Position Description General Summary A Crew Lead oversees the production and safety of a group of employees which may include but not limited to a welder, welder's helper, crane operator and swamper. Gather appropriate job permits from all crew members for each scheduled job and ensure that they have the correct information. 7. Follow and/or complete the Detailed Daily Work Plan (DDWP) and ensure crew actively participates, knows and follows each procedure. 8. Ensure the crew has the appropriate equipment, tools and supplies to complete the assigned task and have knowledge of all equipment. 9. Perform monthly tool audit of all crew members and ensure compliance of equipment (vehicle registration/ fire extinguisher, etc). 10. Be able to detect welding issues ahead of time to properly guide crew on corrections when needed. 11. Must complete specific KSI PLW Training, Site Specific Training and Customer Required Training. 12. Test the job site for atmospheric hazards and know how to read a monitor. 13. Perform bolt-up procedure to torque specs. 14. Be aware of the dangers associated with hazardous atmospheres and hazards associated with using tools and equipment. Preform a job walk to identify all potential hazards around working area and take procedural actions to mitigate or eliminate if any found. 15. Coach and mentor fellow crew members around applicable safety processes/policies. 16. Develop a general knowledge of KSI PPM-SOPs. 17. Follow all KS Industries, LLC safety, and customer policies and procedures. 18. Shall perform all physical and mental requirements listed. Physical & Mental Requirements Working Conditions: The locations vary from site to site. Work is physically demanding and requires the ability to concentrate well on the job at hand, in all types of weather. Majority of the work is construction-based work. Walking and working surface vary depending on the terrain, from flat to extreme slopes and frozen, wet, snowy and slippery conditions. Working Hours: Normally, a full-time employee will work 40 hours per week, depending on the factors such as weather and schedules. Work schedules and hours may vary depending on specific client locations and projects. In general, applicable work schedules include 5-8's and 4-10's.
