This position is responsible for controlling traffic in and around construction work zones according to established procedures and policies to ensure a safe and efficient work site for all internal and external workers and the public.
Organize, transport and supervise flaggers.
Undertake daily and other routine servicing and safety maintenance.
Setting up flagging operations, including advanced warning signs, and flagging traffic.
Supplementing crews who need additional flaggers due to intersections or busy roadways.
Installing and maintaining lane closures on a variety of roadways.
Moving equipment. IE Message boards, arrow boards, crash trucks, light towers, cones, etc.
Installing permanent construction signs (occasionally).
Contribute to the continuous improvements of Palmetto Corps procedures.
Ensure all paperwork, PPE and vehicle requirements for your allocated job are met.
Make sure all equipment is reloaded onto the vehicle as per procedure and is positioned in a tidy and safe manner.

What You'll Do as a Crew Leader
As a Crew Leader at Lewis Services, you will oversee and manage a crew performing utility vegetation management, ensuring safe and efficient tree trimming and line clearing operations for the utility and other customers.

Qualifications
What You Bring
At least 3 years of experience in a tree crew or in utility vegetation management.
Strong knowledge and understanding of the ANSI Z133 Safety Requirements and A300 Pruning Standards for arboricultural operations.
Proficient in the identification of poisonous plants.
Proficiency in electrical circuit basics and interpreting circuit maps.
Advanced in tree ascent/descent using ropes and a safety saddle, and skilled in aerial lift operations.
Crew Leader Technical Knowledge and Skills Certification (or ability to complete).
Valid driver's license, CDL (as needed), and required medical certification.
Acquire and keep the required training and licenses for the safe and proper use of herbicides.

Manages projects from “blueprints to completion” (including time lines)
Plans, schedules, and orders material and/or equipment
Develops project layouts and translates blueprints information into actual work.
Schedules and coordinates people and resources
Measures effectiveness and productivity of project
Ensures a safe working environment and well-being of associates.
Train and develop associates
Track and document project status daily
Education/Experience and Ideal Candidate Qualifications:
Excellent Verbal and Written Communication Skills
Critical Thinking, Time Management, Organization, Attention to Detail
Experience in managing a construction crew
30-hour OSHA certification
Minimum 5 years' experience in construction- dry wall, ceilings, and/or flooring preferred
Ability to read blue prints and specs
Ability to lead and influence peers and clients
Proficient math, and computer skills
Safety Requirements:
Ensure that all safety training and certifications are up to date or scheduled.
Stay compliant with all Bonitz safety polices to ensure a safe and efficient workplace.
Must be committed to working safely while accomplishing all tasks.
Up to date knowledge of requirements for necessary equipment and training per job.

Position Description
The Traffic Control Crew Leader is responsible for providing traffic management services for construction projects. This position is responsible for controlling traffic in and around construction work zones according to established procedures and policies to ensure a safe and efficient work site for all internal and external workers and the public.
Organize, transport and supervise flaggers.
Undertake daily and other routine servicing and safety maintenance.
Setting up flagging operations, including advanced warning signs, and flagging traffic.
Supplementing crews who need additional flaggers due to intersections or busy roadways.
Installing and maintaining lane closures on a variety of roadways.
Moving equipment. IE Message boards, arrow boards, crash trucks, light towers, cones, etc.
Installing permanent construction signs (occasionally).
Contribute to the continuous improvements of Palmetto Corps procedures.
Ensure all paperwork, PPE and vehicle requirements for your allocated job are met.
Make sure all equipment is reloaded onto the vehicle as per procedure and is positioned in a tidy and safe manner.
Maintain and store in good condition all company equipment.
Position Requirements
Must have 2 - 3 years traffic control experience.
Must have valid driver's license and good driving record.
Must be able to work all shifts and long hours.
This position demands long days-as traffic control is often the first one on a job site and the last to leave.
