The Grading / Earthwork Foreman will supervise and coordinate field operations for all grading, excavation, and embankment activities on the Vicksburg National Military Park Stabilization and Road Repair Project. This position requires strong technical knowledge of earthwork, slope stabilization, drainage installation, and roadway subgrade preparation. The Foreman will ensure all work is performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project plans, specifications, and environmental regulations. Key Responsibilities Field Supervision & Planning Lead, direct, and coordinate daily operations of grading and earthwork crews, including equipment operators, laborers, and truck drivers. Interpret construction drawings, grades, and staking information to ensure correct lines, slopes, and elevations. Plan and assign daily tasks to maintain schedule and production goals. Coordinate closely with surveyors, project engineers, and QC personnel to verify grades and tolerances. Monitor cut/fill operations, compaction, and material placement for quality and accuracy. Earthwork & Grading Operations Supervise all excavation, embankment, and grading activities for roadway reconstruction and slope stabilization. Ensure proper use of materials such as geogrid, aggregate base, gabions, and backfill per project specifications.
