Experience wiring cabinets, panels, meter bases, and performing battery installations is a must. You do not need to have an electrician's license, but you should be comfortable performing the work. In addition, you must be able to perform tower construction duties in outdoor environments, in all weather conditions, and you must be able to travel extensively within the market area. Overnight travel with some evening and weekend work should be expected. You must possess basic computer skills and be able to complete/submit paperwork by required deadlines. Perform grounding, terminations, fastening, proper bolting and antioxidant use, support of leads, cadwelding as required, etc. Willingly assist on all jobs, including groundwork and all tasks required to build and install a site per customer specs. Read and understand drawings, piping diagrams, job specifications, mounting specs, testing procedures, and similar documents. Perform general construction of tower sites, including site layouts, clearing, excavation, foundations/slabs, tower assembly, trenching/conduit installation, ice bridge, h-frames, fencing, aggregate roads/compounds, cabinet placement and securing, and other tasks, working with and around heavy equipment. Safely lift up to 75 pounds. Drive a truck and trailer and back it up competently. Communicate effectively and respectfully, both verbally and in writing. Understand the fundamentals of hardscape construction and be well versed with different types of base installations - traditional, permeable, raised structure and synthetic. Set screed bars according to final grade of the project. Screed and compact areas in preparation for laying pavers, slabs or walls. Free-grade base in areas where bars are not used. Check for square and level continually over the course of a project. Notify the Project Manager if you think you see potential issues on site. Maintain an appealing paver laying pattern for modular projects and straight bond lines on linear projects. Confidently mark and cut pavers with both table saw and demo saw. Install edging. Sand and polish projects to completion. Report quantity of materials used to the Project Manager. Identify problems and mitigate them early. Communicate with clients as much as needed on the jobsite. Effectively complete daily logs, Toolbox Talks, delivery logs, inspection reports, etc. Maintain equipment by keeping it clean and in proper working order. Report and document any damaged or unsafe equipment to the PM immediately. Contribute vital information to PM regularly and in job meetings that effect positive change. Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality, and crew performance. Reads grade stakes to ensure utilities are installed per plans and specifications. Provides direction for the installation of utility lines to meet code and ensure compliance with public utility standards. Coordinates with codes and utility inspectors to ensure compliance with installation. Ensures the safety of the project by adhering to all OSHA safety standards. Be sure the crew is following all OSHA regulations, wearing hard hats, safety glasses, safety vests, safety shirts, and proper footwear. Communicates effectively with other trades or subcontractors regarding scheduling and coordinating work to meet deadlines. Effectively identifies and resolves potential problems, work interferences, and schedule difficulties. Works with PM and discusses a 2-5 day “look ahead” schedule. Obtains dump folder for each job. Review and approve each employee's times and work hours. Report any violations of the employee handbook to the HR director immediately. Report tardy or absent employees to the HR director immediately. Handle personnel and other complaints from your crew. If you cannot handle or solve the issue, advise your PM and the HR director. Make sure your job is cleaned up daily. All debris is cleaned up, tools placed back in the truck, areas roped off or secured, signage in place, and equipment parked in a neat row and secured. Equipment is greased daily and maintains proper levels of fuel, hydraulic fluid, and engine oil. Coordinate equipment moves with PM. Communicate rain days with the PM and all field employees. In the event of rain, advise the crew on the start time, visit the job, and discuss with PM on starting or stopping a project. Nights and weekends may be required based on project demands. Attend Superintendent meetings. Enforce company policies concerning the Drug-Free Workplace and follow company policies in the event of an accident.
