Rogers Group is currently seeking a Surface/Plant Foreman for one of our surface limestone operations, Caldwell Stone Quarry, located in Danville, KY. The position reports directly to the Plant Manager. The successful candidate for this role will have an uncompromising emphasis on safety excellence, be a self-starter and will have responsibilities that include but are not limited to:
Responsibilities:
Supervising up to 12 quarry/mine employees and plant operations in a limestone surface mine.
Efficiently supervise production and of a .6M TPY operation.
Overseeing proper implementation of safety procedures.
Assist and organize the work of employees in the daily inspection and maintenance of the plant to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant operations to maximize production and minimize interruptions.
Plan the daily operation scheduling of plant production to ensure optimal utilization of plant and equipment, personnel and inventory requirements, and work procedures in regard to mining, processing, stockpiling, loading and shipping.
Assist plant manager to control costs to meet budgets and reduce costs to achieve savings.
Identify deficiencies and implement a plan for continuous improvement.
Effectively manage direct reports by setting clear performance objectives, providing regular feedback and providing development through training.
Ensure compliance with all Company and Government policies and regulations.
Assist in budgeting and forecasting.
Ensure processes for quality product production and collaborate with QC department.
Actively reaching out and being involved in the local community.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in mining engineering or equivalent time spent in related field is strongly preferred with emphasis on fixed plant maintenance & repair procedures.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in quarry mining or related field.
Working knowledge of profit and loss statements and basic accounting principles is a plus.
Strong communication and leadership skills.
Ability to develop leadership at the hourly and lead person levels.
Demonstrated ability in identifying, communicating and implementing best operating practices, including quality, maintenance & repair activities, production and safety excellence.
Proven safety record and excellent compliance in MSHA Part 46 & 48 safety standards.
Possess strong basic math knowledge
Working knowledge of environmental policies, standards, and best practices.
Working knowledge of AggQC and AggFlow is a plus but not necessary
Proficient in the Microsoft Windows suit is a plus.

What You'll Do:
As a Foreman, you'll lead and manage mechanical construction activities on job sites under the direction of a Superintendent or Project Manager. Youll be responsible for overseeing crews, promoting jobsite safety, and ensuring quality work is completed efficiently and on schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
Organize and manage trade activities on mechanical construction job sites.
Promote and enforce Green Mechanicals safety policies and procedures.
Interpret construction documents such as blueprints, equipment schedules, and specifications.
Generate material takeoffs and manage site materials to maintain productivity.
Supervise and lead project crews, subcontractors, and support personnel.
Monitor field productivity and manage allocated labor hours.
Coordinate equipment and material deliveries.
Participate in progress and coordination meetings.
Maintain necessary certifications or licenses applicable to the role.
Complete and submit required job documentation and progress reports.
Perform additional tasks as needed to support successful project delivery.

Ideal Qualifications:
Minimum of four (4) years of experience in commercial or industrial mechanical construction.

Experience supervising mechanical construction projects (preferred).
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Ability to read and interpret construction plans.

Job Description
The Construction Foreman takes a hands-on leadership role on the job site ensuring prompt, efficient progress of the work. The Foreman determines priorities for work to be done, sometimes on their own initiative and authority, but more often based on needs communicated by management.
Job Duties:
Heavy equipment operation - Track hoe, backhoe, (ability to install sheet piling a plus), rental equipment and materials scheduling and call off.
Direct and run the project.
Communicate to the Installation Manager any specific requirements for completing the project in a safe, timely, and profitable manner.
Communicate with the customer or their onsite representative the requirements or issues that may arise on the job site.
Ability to read and understand applicable plans and specifications, environmental regulations, fire and building codes that must be enforced on the site.

Selected training sessions as directed by the Installation Manager
Keep accurate daily records on each job. This should include, as a minimum, a record of all tests, inspections, the daily progress on the job, visitors to the job and situations that may affect the schedule in a negative way.
Set an example for your crew members by reporting to work on time and in proper uniform.
Supervise the daily activities of the crew.
Plan for tomorrow.
Take opportunities to train the crew so that each member can take on increasing responsibilities.
Enforce all mandatory safety rules:
Be aware of potential hazards and correct any of these situations.
Require the use of the proper personal protective equipment by all crew members and subcontractors.
Hold weekly job-site safety meetings.
Ensure a positive Company image including the following:
The personal appearance of each crew member should be clean and in compliance with Company Policy.
Each vehicle must be clean and orderly.
The job site should be kept orderly and free of safety hazards. Treat the site as if it is your own property.
The job site sign should be kept clean and in good repair.
The conduct of each crew member should be professional and courteous.
Maintain all vehicles in compliance with departmental preventive maintenance policies. Do not allow unsafe conditions to exist on the vehicles. Vehicles should be washed and cleaned weekly. Operate all vehicles in a safe manner.
Requirements
5+ Years of experience in piping and products experience REQUIRED.
Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to safely operate a construction truck
Minimum high school diploma or GED required.
Physical Requirements: Ability to repetitively lift, carry, push, pull up to 50 pounds, frequent bending, stooping, standing 8-10 hours per day.
Must be able to meet company's employment requirements, which includes passing a drug screen, criminal background check, and MVR, if driving for the company

Essential Functions:
Supervises a line clearance crew and is responsible for planning daily work for crew.
Assigns work for individual crew members and directs crew in performing work according to accepted line clearance practices. Must be capable of adjusting to field requirements and take independent action without close supervision.
Recognizes poisonous plants and uses proper safeguard against them.
Enforces safe work practices, as experience, judgment, company policy, and OSHA specifies and conducts safety training in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Receives and interprets tree trimming, removal and chemical application orders initiated by General Foreperson or Utility, involving an understanding of drawings and symbols, representing types of power lines, voltages, and line equipment.
Responsible for the conduct of safety training of assigned personnel in accordance with good safety training procedures, in addition to and in coordination with client company policies and procedures.
Responsible for being mindful of controlling crew costs including effective use of manpower, proper work methods, amount of trimming, and operation of equipment.
Considers inclement weather conditions and determines when to start or stop work, dependent upon its effect on employees and the nature of the work.
Safeguards employees and public from hazards in and around work area. Cooperates with customer, police, and fire departments when blocking street or driveways. Sets up barriers, warning signs, flags, etc. to protect employees as well as the public. Trained to perform tree and bucket rescue. Follows and enforces safe work practices, rules and policies.
Responsible for truck inspection, proper working conditions, as well as necessary repairs to tools, trucks and other work equipment. Requests major repairs or replacements when required. Maintains good housekeeping on truck and at worksite locations.

Sprays stumps and brush with hand-spraying equipment to prevent further growth.
Loads and unloads trucks with logs, stumps, brush, and debris and/or feeds brush into a wood chipper.

Services gasoline, air, and hand-powered tools and other equipment.

Minimum Requirements:
