Position Summary: Our client has an exciting opportunity for a Roadway Foreman with successful and progressive experience in performing the field planning and production of all types of roadway related construction as directed by the Superintendent. You will be responsible for execution of road projects including effective use of heavy equipment and on\-site direction of the dirt crew consisting of equipment operators, drivers, and laborers. Requirements\/Qualifications: To be eligible for consideration, all applicants must possess a valid Driver's License. Minimum of 5 years' experience as a foreman working on roadway related construction. OSHA 10 certification required; FDOT experience preferred but not required. Must have knowledge of calculating and setting grades, of all types of roadway construction equipment and forming systems associated with roadway construction. Experience in the operation of maintenance and construction equipment especially in heavy manual labor. Considerable knowledge of the methods, techniques, materials, and equipment necessary in the care and maintenance of highways and highway construction practices. Professionally and technically competent in bridge and crane work Capable of heavy lifting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crawling, crouching, and reaching Must have good vision, stamina, hand\-eye coordination, and ability to estimate size and dimensions. Must be able to meet all safety requirements and applicable safety policies. Able to work outdoors in dusty or dirty areas. Strong attention to detail and quality craftsmanship. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and achieve goals. Adaptive to different personalities and management styles Team player with good interpersonal skills Dedicated and hardworking Responsibilities: Organize and plan the work with the Superintendent. Direct oversight responsibility of time sheets for labor and equipment, as well as daily reports complete with quantities worked. Review, maintain, and monitor crew's productivity and goals daily. Enforce quality control and Company safety policies on all aspects of the work. Follow the project construction process to ensure that work is completed on time. Conduct daily huddles, stretching exercises, and weekly Toolbox Talk with crew. Provide job hazard analysis prior to new work activities. Develop material handling plan with Superintendent. Ensure that delivery receipts are collected and submitted to field engineers. Directs workers engaged in maintaining and constructing roads. Oversees the operation and maintenance of equipment and facilities. Determine grade elevations, sight visibility, topsoil, degree of slopes, road approaches, and cattle guards; inspect completed work for conformance to specifications and standards. Monitors equipment, supplies and parts inventories needed to support field activity. Recommends the appropriate types of materials required and the correct procedures to achieve desired results. Requisition tools, equipment, and supplies. Monitors the implementation of safety orientations, safety indoctrination, provides coaching for improvement.
