About this Role
Substation Foreman at Irby Construction Company shall possess a minimum of one (4) years of experience in a Journeymen electrical role. Substation, Commercial, or Industrial construction Journeymen electrical experience is a plus. Journeymen electricians must have a valid journeymen electrician card or be able to pass the Journeymen electricians test per government standards. What You'll Do

Job Specific Duties
Being able to read and understand control cable schedules from the client.
Ability to ensure that conduit sizes are correct for control cable pulls and installation techniques.
Have the knowledge or ability to read P&C prints for proper termination of multiple conductor control cables up to 12/C #12 all the way down to 1/C 4/0 cables.
Have the knowledge or ability to learn medium voltage terminations up to 34.5kv terminations.
Irby does offer medium voltage termination training and certification.
Knowledge base to understand DC systems as well as AC systems.
Supplying insight on project construction as far a control cable pulling, installation and termination.
Ability & skill set to work in energized panels
Knowledge of electrical, below grade or concrete foundation trade a plus.
High Voltage Substation construction knowledge or experience a plus.
Accountable for quality of work to ensure that it is being performed according to specifications.

- Proven experience (5 years) as a Foreman or Supervisor in the DoD Fuels construction and/or oil and gas industry. Working knowledge of blueprints, welding, rigging and related standards.
- In-depth knowledge of DoD fueling system design, construction, and regulatory requirements.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to different job sites as required.
**Physical Requirements:**
- Ability to lift and carry heavy materials (up to 50 lbs) and to work in various weather conditions.
- Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces as needed.
