ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Organizes work to get the most productivity out of the crew by instructing employees where to go, what to do, and what equipment and/or materials will be needed. Participates in pre-project and pre-task planning activities (reviews plans, subgrade, drainage, fine grading, compaction, paving, etc.) and then relays planning details to field crew. Checks plants and orders correct amount of materials daily for asphalt patching. Coordinates with Operations Assistant to order correct amount of materials needed for concrete patching. Supervises, oversees and trains crew to ensure work is performed properly and to AA's highest quality standards. Checks all work for quality periodically throughout the project and at the end of the job. Performs all aspects of the job, including general laboring and operating equipment; makes it a priority to train others in all aspects of the job. Solves problems as they arise and contacts Superintendent for assistance if unable to resolve the problem. Completes all related electronic paperwork via Field Services/Dynamics and Workforce Go (HCMtoGo), correctly and on time. Ensures compliance and personally follows all safety rules and regulations (including flagging, truck and equipment operations, etc.) and practices preventative safety measures; wears required PPE. QUALIFICATIONS Valid Class A CDL preferred with a good driving record. In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment and safety guidelines with one year of experience working on an asphalt and/or concrete crew. Strong organizational and leadership skills.
