Research Assistants - Psychology Department

Overview:


The Psychology department at the University of Central Oklahoma (UCO) is seeking undergraduate and graduate students to fill Research Assistant positions. These positions are part-time or temporary, and the students' academic training is based in part on the research performed. The research assistants will work under the supervision and direction of faculty or administration, assisting with research projects, data collection, and data analysis.
Responsibilities:

* Assist faculty members in conducting research, including descriptive, exploratory, or experimental research

* Participate in publication activities, data collection, data management, and/or data analysis

* Develop, design, program, and collect data for own experiments

* Support daily research activities of other students, including helping to maintain the psychology laboratory

* Gain experience in research design, statistical analysis, and research methodology

Qualifications:

* Undergraduate or graduate student classification at UCO

* Eligibility for Federal Work Study Program (FWSP) employment preferred, but not required

* Sensitivity of intercultural communication and good interpersonal skills

* Excellent written and oral communication skills

* Strong technology skills with ability to learn new software programs quickly

* Critical thinking and problem-solving skills

* Ability to perform basic troubleshooting

* Detail oriented, dependable, and punctual
