Part-Time Lecturer - Writing

Overview:


The Ithaca College Department of Writing invites applications for part-time lecturers for the 2025-2026 academic year. We seek candidates with a commitment to inclusive excellence and experience teaching academic writing, as well as fiction and/or poetry.
Responsibilities:

* Teach academic writing, fiction, and/or poetry courses

* Develop and implement engaging lesson plans and course materials

* Assess student progress and provide feedback

* Contribute to the department's commitment to inclusive excellence

Qualifications:

* MFA or Ph.D. in an appropriate field (ABDs with significant undergraduate teaching experience will be considered)

* Experience teaching academic writing, fiction, and/or poetry

* Commitment to inclusive excellence and promoting success in all students

* Ability to facilitate discussions on diversity, marginalization, or inclusion in the classroom
