Overview:
Airbus is seeking an experienced Aircraft Quality Inspector to join our A320 team in Mobile, AL. As a key member of our quality team, you will be responsible for executing and confirming quality inspections as part of the production process, with a focus on aircraft structure and mechanical systems.
Responsibilities:
* Execute technical inspections in the production process of the aircraft in the context of the authorization of manufacturer operation
* Prepare and perform visual, incoming, first article, final inspections during aircraft manufacture for compliance with design specifications, customers, and certification requirements
* Document the technical inspections performed in multiple production orders SAP-based and the relevant SAL-based IT systems by inspection marks and complete other aircraft documents as well as prepare first article inspection reports
* Support troubleshooting, Functional Test Procedures (FTPs), and participate in Quality Survey requests
* Compile all technical data of non-conformance in order to launch the NCMS-based quality discrepancy sheets for the professional assessment in accordance with the manufacturing engineering documentation
* Document all the results of the technical inspector in the FLEXNET/NCMS/SAP-based IT system
* Attain skills to perform audits of Non-Conformance Rework Orders as part of the Material Review Board (MRB)
* Perform audits/reviews of workbooks to validate PV approval and process adherence
* Track and maintain components during the Non Conformance process
* Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
* High school diploma or GED
* FAA Airframe & Powerplant License including inspection authorization is preferred
* 3 years of experience as a Quality Inspector in an aviation company with an emphasis on mechanical and/or structural components and assemblies
* Previous experience in a mechanic or technician role is highly desirable
* Airline experience is desirable
* Knowledge of Quality Management Systems
* Knowledge of drawing systems, inspection plans, and inspection coordination
* Knowledge of the principles, practices, methods, and tools used in the production line
* Handling and use of inspection tools of the length measuring techniques (mechanical, optical, electrical)
