Transfers full trailers from the holding areas to the processing area and then transfers empty trailers from the processing area to designated parking spaces and to include regular rotation to other positions with the department.May or may not require a CDL license.
Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Operates jockey truck transferring trailers to and from the processing area.The task requires maneuvering in and out of the vehicle up to a height of 4 feet every 1/2 hour.
Ensures that trailers are processed in the order designated by management.
Ensures that YMS (Yard Management System) is updated and policy followed.Keeping the yard organized and in order.
Performs pre-op inspection of vehicle and post-op cleaning on a daily basis.
Yard checks are done periodically.Communicates with the gate, the dock office and management.

Works outdoors year round in seasonal temperatures with noise exposure of 96.2 db; light intensity of less than 5' candles.When in a plant environment: Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces. May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity.
May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit. May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db. May be exposed to dust, feathers and all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility. Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company. Occasional exposure to carbon dioxide vapors 10ppm and chlorine less than 20 ppm. Able to stand for several hours. Work may include lifting (35 to 65 lbs) to heights from 5" to 84", reaching, bending, pushing boxes on conveyor assembly.May need to have the ability to operate standup lift for 9 plus hours.

The Class A CDL Trailer Jockey maintains a continuous material flow from spotted trailers and tankers for production demands and outbound shipments.
Position Responsibilities
:
Drive tractors and trailers in and out the loading dock areas as a yard jockey / trailer spotter. Drive box trucks. Inspect vehicles, trailers, docks, and yard for any maintenance concerns and safety issues. Maintain an accurate inventory of dropped trailers in the drop lot (i.E. Part number, date received, trailer number, lot number and quantity). Supply production lines with correct materials needed to support production demands while following FIFO (first in/first out) Ability to operate a forklift Load and unload raw materials and finished goods efficiently and safely. Ensure that outbound trailers are loaded properly to distribute weight and eliminate damage Maintain a safe, clean, organized warehouse and work area Building and grounds maintenance (i.E. Snow removal) Process all required paperwork accurately and timely Removal of waste from the production lines as well as transport waste and cardboard to compactor Safely change forklift batteries using provided using provided safety gear Assist in physical inventories and cycle counts Ability to read and understand Bill of Lading (BOL) from inbound loads and outbound shipments Complete lot tracking of all incoming raw materials and packaging components Proper markings of raw materials for warehouse storage
