Job Description
Develops and executes the SE Lean Management System Deployment within Division Site or function, working with the Site Leader or Functional leader. Lean methodology is focused on building a disciplined operational review and execution system at value stream and site level. This is a key role in leading and embedding cultural change in the operational and business transformation environment. The role holder will also lead projects and coach others in project delivery. This position requires excellent organizational, prioritization and facilitation skills, the ability to work independently and partner with business leaders and key stakeholders in identifying and executing continuous improvement in all operational and functional areas.
Develops LEAN strategy for their site, or value stream, working with the site leader. Plans and drives the implementation of the Lean Management System.
Build LEAN capabilities within Smiths in alignment with SE strategy. Collaborate with Division Lean colleagues to train practitioners, support cross-functional Kaizens and act as Lean SME for Lean development programs.
Train operational and functional teams in Lean principles, methodology, and tools.
Facilitates the development and deployment of a disciplined Daily Management System incorporating Leader Standard Work, Visual Management and Daily Accountability
Partner with all functions to develop cross-functional end-to-end value stream maps to capture current state, define future state with a roadmap of actions to improve customer performance and achieve business objectives.
Lead and support project ideation and hopper building for Lean and Six Sigma projects.
Coach projects focused on improvements in customer performance, increased throughput and speed, reduced cycle times/lead times and productivity improvement including Green belt Projects
Coach site leadership team & employees through regular Gemba walks to drive continuous improvement
Utilize best practices and data to influence leaders and teams to achieve positive business results.
Identifies, promotes, and disseminates out-of-the-box Lean thinking and best practices, supports and coaches during SE strategy workshops and project implementations.
Plays a role in facilitating the effectiveness of the enterprise-wide SE deployment including: active participation in the global Community of Practice, sharing of best practices, supporting the success of other belts and other duties to enable the success of SE at Smiths.

Qualifications
Preferred Education, Qualification and Experience:
Bachelor's degree
Experience of deploying LEAN leadership across multiple functions/ sites or an entire business
Experience of leading large-scale strategic initiatives.
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
Skills and Experience:
Highly seasoned and experienced LEAN leader a practitioner with a proven track record of end-to-end value stream management (e.g., operations, administration, customer-facing).
Experience of deploying Lean Management Systems cross multiple functions within a medium or large company.

Job Description
Lead the turbomachinery systems business from Inquiry to Order and field services for dry gas seal support systems, both technically and commercially. Support global business development activities by assisting the sales organization and customers, with a special focus on the Americas region (North America, Canada, and Latin America).
Responsible for leading the Turbomachinery Systems Team within the Sales & Aftermarket organization for the Americas region, ensuring alignment with global strategies while addressing regional market dynamics. The role focuses on driving regional growth and delivering customer-centric solutions in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
This is a customer-facing role, responsible for managing and executing day-to-day activities related to bidding and application engineering, including the selection of sub-components during the bidding process. The position requires close coordination with other functional departments such as Global Supply Chain, Global Engineering, Global Production, and the Product Line.
SPECIFIC DUTIES, ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

Experience:

Job Description
* Interprets internal customer inputs for development of onshore services scope of work.

• Provides ALL cut sheets and data for every major piece of equipment in the unit (motors, pumps, valves, compressors, dryers, generators, RV's, PCV's, Filter vessels, tanks, strainers, etc.),
• Builds project schedule that timelines from time of receipt, to drawing schedule, to equipment arrival at PSI, to fabrication including all services, to testing, to final assembly, to shipment.
• Purchases 80-90% of all equipment once loaded for all job orders.
• Partners with Purchasing/Expediting group to ensure timely deliveries and put customer O&M Books together for job orders. Also, partners with Planners for scheduling shop floor deliveries.
• Reviews all BOM's and approve them and drawings for construction.
• Partners with vendors on timing for projects.
• Travel to customer locations for sales and project presentations.
• Submits data sheets to engineering firms/customers for review on engineered projects.
• Schedules all testing for final completion.
• Schedule/plan and facilitate meetings with customers, vendors, and various company departments.
• Other duties, as assigned.

Responsibilities
Conducts and records assigned tests, assemblies, & installations of moderate difficulty on mechanical, electrical, & hydraulic products and equipment with little supervision.
Main Tasks
• Secures the work order from Planning and verifies that all procedures and drawings necessary for the work to begin are in place.
• Reviews the delivery schedules and ensures that all tools and materials necessary to meet the schedules are on hand prior to the start dates. Prepares and sets up proper equipment.
• Assists others during assembly, test, and installation of products in area of expertise. Teaches other technicians proper techniques and procedures for mastered competencies.
• Collects, records, and maintains quality records and required test documentation associated with receipt, in process, and final inspection including test reports, failed test reports, Quality Notifications (QN's), and Service Notifications (SN's) in a clear, accurate manner. Notifies Project or Product Engineering for resolution of procedural or other related issues.
• Resolves routine questions and problems in mastered competency areas. Refers more complex issues to higher levels.
• Practices safe work habits and good housekeeping, maintaining the cleanliness of the work area and all tools. Executes corrective actions and preventative actions according to Safety initiatives before issues arise. Maintains compliance to MSDS, HSE, and other safety conditioning for the shop environment.
• Disposes of all fluids including hydraulic and silicone oils according to established safety and environmental policies.
• Ensures that all materials necessary for the maintenance of the work area are in stock. This includes hand wipes, solvents, cleaning solutions, etc. Maintains test equipment per procedures. Ensures maintenance of calibration records for all electronic, mechanical, and hydraulic test equipment of work area.
• Prepares equipment for shipping as directed. Uses material handling equipment to move parts and components as needed.
• Constructs or fabricates test fixtures as required.
• Learns procedures and best practices on safety and quality to prepare for next level.
• Assists other technicians as assigned in more advanced functions as part of training.
• Assembles, tests, and installs products according to FMC specifications. Masters basic skills and some advanced skills in procedures, techniques, tools, materials and/or equipment in area of expertise.
• Performs “Receive Inspection Tests” and a variety of checks / analyses using basic skills on materials, products, and components according to established procedures, objectives, and technical advice from senior workshop personnel and Engineering on all new and customer property equipment to ensure operational performance.
• Assists with FAT's (Factory Acceptance Tests), EFAT's (Extended Factory Acceptance Tests), and SIT's (System Integration Tests) as required.
• Can perform diagnostic troubleshooting on failed electronic, hydraulic, or mechanical equipment of minor to moderate difficulty with little guidance. Learns to troubleshoot circuits using the appropriate test equipment, schematic drawings, and knowledge of electronics to determine where the failure is.

This individual contributor role is responsible for the structural analysis and design of utility transmission and distribution structures fabricated by the Valmont Utility Division, Steel Group. The engineer will handle full design responsibilities for quotes and orders, and provide general support to drafting and sales. The role involves planning and managing design workflows to meet project milestones and collaborating with senior engineers to ensure customer specifications are met and designs are efficient and manufacturable.
**Essential Functions:**
+ Reports to the Engineering Manager/Supervisor; no direct or indirect reports
+ Analyzes and designs steel utility structures (primarily transmission and distribution) using structural design software, including Finite Element Method (IMPAX)
+ Balances safety, manufacturability, and cost-efficiency in all designs
+ Interprets customer specifications, market needs, and sales input to develop compliant, practical solutions
+ Prepares and communicates engineering data for quotes and orders, including weight estimates and cost-related details
+ Supports Drafting team to ensure design accuracy and timely order processing
+ Reviews engineering and shop drawings, and evaluates as-built products for alignment with design intent
+ Coordinates workflow and project milestones to ensure on-time delivery
+ Provides internal and external technical support, including to customers, consultants, and contractors
+ Maintains effective communication through phone, email, and in-person interactions
+ May provide guidance to drafters and junior design staff
+ Participates in product and process improvement discussions to enhance team efficiency and morale
+ Recommends and coordinates testing to confirm theoretical designs when necessary
+ Ensures design compliance with Valmont, industry, and national codes and standards
+ Handles both standard and complex structural modeling tasks with appropriate support
+ Applies sound engineering judgment to projects with clearly defined objectives and variable challenges
+ May require travel up to 10%
**Essential Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering with 2-5+ years of relevant structural design experience preferred
+ Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification
+ Proficiency in structural engineering principles and 3D CAD (AutoCAD)
+ Strong communication and teamwork skills
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
+ 3-4 years of industry experience
+ Professional Engineer (P.E.) license
+ Experience designing steel monopoles or utility structures
+ Familiarity with utility design loads and industry standards
+ Prior project team experience
