Industrial Engineer SME I will be responsible for planning, designing, implementing, and managing; integrated, production and service delivery systems that assure performance, reliability, maintainability, schedule adherence and cost control within the production site. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Project leader - direct and implement projects that will eliminate waste, through the standard Industrial Engineeringprocess
o This will include but is not limited to: Complex Process Simulation, Operations Research and Business Model Cost Analysis
· Critically evaluate large scale work force utilization, facility layout, and operational data such as, but not limited to, production costs, process flow charts, and end to end value stream analysis, to determine efficient utilization and effectiveness of workers and equipment
· Verify Time standards prepared within IE Team
· Lead as Site Subject Matter Expert in all global & regional IE systems and applications (IEDB, MPT, PFC)
· Lead as Site Subject Matter Expert in all IE practices
· Communicate to regional team key Industrial Engineering metrics for assigned customer(s) and Site
· Drive the standardization SAP and Manufacturing Execution System configurations
· Prepare complex quotes for new proposed large-scale manufacturing within the Site o Includes, but not limited to, end to end line design, VA labor, DL and equipment sizing, capital, building infrastructure
additions, automation projects, etc.
· Support & Advise Business Unit Coordinators on process reliability and accuracy of process and project assumptions
· Drive process improvement related activities for New Product Introduction.
· Coach, mentor, and train engineers within the Industrial Engineering team
· Support and/or maintain all lower level Industrial Engineering essential duties and responsibilities
· Ensure the standardization of Jabil processes throughout the site in accordance with the global, regional and site direction
· Communicate, consult, and inform Site IE best practices with supporting data to Regional and Global IE teams
· Support the Lean organization by developing a solid process foundation and data integrity in order to support process improvement through the organization

* Determine immediate and future manpower, tooling and equipment requirements.
* Support the implementation of new products, designing and implementing lines and workstations in order to meet all the safety, productivity and quality requirements.

The Job:
As a Manufacturing Engineer, you'll be part of our Elyria, OH team working as an on-site employee. Responsible for the manufacturing support required to successfully produce assigned product lines. This includes establishing product definition and documentation, providing customer service, identifying the optimal production method, designing tooling, and supporting production. You'll get to:
• Responsible for leading entire manufacturing process/design of new parts and improving manufacturing of existing parts associated with a key customer(s) , ensuring alignment with customer expectations, contractual requirements, and/or internal business initiatives.
• Conform to and/or comply with all EHS, Quality, Finance, Ethics, Governance, and regulations/laws.
• Review customer drawings and inquiries, provide cost data for quotations, assist customer(s) in developing the optimal product.
• Design and prepare product drawings, operations sheets, process instructions, and maintain to latest revisions.
• Determine manufacturing methodology and rates, material requirements, coordinate processing products with secondary operations suppliers, and enter into business management system.
• Establish product function and critical characteristics for the customers' application, work with quality team in developing control plans, FMEAs, and process flow diagrams.
• Design all necessary tooling and fixtures required for product manufacture and revise as needed to improve manufacturing efficiency.
• Facilitate with all plant departments to integrate new products into the manufacturing system, and improve existing products by providing support on equipment, tooling, processes, tool crib, tool room, etc.
• Evaluate, recommend, justify, and provide technical expertise for new equipment acquisition and drive improvement with robotics, automation ,and new technology.
• Identify methods for improving efficiency, reducing waste, re-organizing work flow, establishing product packaging, warehousing methods, and implementing Lean Manufacturing (5S, Kaizen, 8 Wastes, etc).

**The Job:**
As a Manufacturing Engineer, you'll be part of our Elyria, OH team working as an on-site employee. Responsible for the manufacturing support required to successfully produce assigned product lines. This includes establishing product definition and documentation, providing customer service, identifying the optimal production method, designing tooling, and supporting production. **You'll get to:**
- Responsible for leading entire manufacturing process/design of new parts and improving manufacturing of existing parts associated with a key customer(s) , ensuring alignment with customer expectations, contractual requirements, and/or internal business initiatives.
- Conform to and/or comply with all EHS, Quality, Finance, Ethics, Governance, and regulations/laws.
- Review customer drawings and inquiries, provide cost data for quotations, assist customer(s) in developing the optimal product.
- Design and prepare product drawings, operations sheets, process instructions, and maintain to latest revisions.
- Determine manufacturing methodology and rates, material requirements, coordinate processing products with secondary operations suppliers, and enter into business management system.
- Establish product function and critical characteristics for the customers' application, work with quality team in developing control plans, FMEAs, and process flow diagrams.
- Design all necessary tooling and fixtures required for product manufacture and revise as needed to improve manufacturing efficiency.
- Facilitate with all plant departments to integrate new products into the manufacturing system, and improve existing products by providing support on equipment, tooling, processes, tool crib, tool room, etc.
- Evaluate, recommend, justify, and provide technical expertise for new equipment acquisition and drive improvement with robotics, automation ,and new technology.
- Identify methods for improving efficiency, reducing waste, re-organizing work flow, establishing product packaging, warehousing methods, and implementing Lean Manufacturing (5S, Kaizen, 8 Wastes, etc).

Position Summary
Under limited/minimal supervision, the Manufacturing Engineer II is an experienced role that is responsible for designing, implementing, and reviewing manufacturing processes, procedures, and equipment typically in a single manufacturing facility. Supports the manufacture and assembly of new and existing Parker products.
Identifies improved manufacturing techniques for testing new systems and methods for efficiency, and planning assembly layouts to optimize production, quality, cost, and safety. May be responsible for developing and deploying capital projects.
Scope/ Supervision and Interaction
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities for direct or indirect reports.
Essential Functions
* Manufacturing Process Flow - Plans and designs basic manufacturing processes to improve the manufacture and assembly of new and existing products. Determines equipment and tooling needed to achieve manufacturing goals according to product and quality specifications.
* Process Improvement - Develops and implements process improvement projects that focus on manufacturing efficiency, material yield, safety, and cost. May lead small teams in developing and implementing process improvement efforts.
* Engineering Design Support - Provides guidance to engineering leadership regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
* Regulatory Compliance - Ensures more complex processes and procedures comply with regulations. Applies frequent use and application of technical standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques.
* Remediation - Investigates and suggests corrective action to ensure product quality, and to resolve quality issues.
* Performs additional responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
* Bachelor's Degree in related Engineering field with 2-5 years of experience
* Proficient/Working knowledge and ability to apply concepts of engineering for one solution line
* Ability to apply a systematic, disciplined, and analytical approach to problem solving of moderate to difficult scope and complexity
* Effectively apply continuous improvement methods to quality and manufacturing functions (e.g. pull systems, process mapping, JIT)
* Proficient/Working knowledge of data structures and database programming
* Ability to work effectively with CAD/CAM systems or other computer aided manufacturing systems, in addition to standard business application software and/ or specialized data analysis tools
* Ability to use existing procedures to solve problems
* Ability to read and understand moderate to complex engineering drawings and specifications
* Working knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
* Ability to research and analyze data effectively and draw valid conclusions
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Well-organized, detail-oriented, and ability to multi-task
* Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and web-browsers
