School of Medicine, Pediatric Nephrology is seeking a **_Research Program Assistant II_** to be responsible for coordinating multiple research studies. One of the primary studies is a multi-center, longitudinal study of children with chronic kidney disease. Another major study is aimed at examining outcomes in children who have received kidney transplants. This position will also work on multiple industry-sponsored pharmaceutical trials.
Researchers at Johns Hopkins University conduct clinical trials and clinical studies to discover new ways to prevent and treat diseases and other health problems. The Clinical Research Assistant II will support the research team by implementing steps and processes of a clinical research protocol. The position will perform both administrative tasks related to day-to-day clinical research operations, and protocol-related duties requiring an understanding of research procedures.
**Specific Duties & Responsibilities**
+ Collect study data by recruiting and coordinating activities of study participants.
+ Utilize a basic understanding of the clinical study background and rationale to explain. the study to potential and current participants.
+ Assist in developing recruitment strategy for one or more studies.
+ Implement a variety of techniques for recruitment, e.g., print and web based. advertisements, contact referring physicians, participate in community events, etc.
+ Set up tools and procedures for data collection and study processes.
+ Perform data entry and organize data in approved systems.
+ Serve as liaison between study team and IRB for routine administrative matters.
+ Prepare routine reports related to study accrual, study trends, efficiency-related issues.
+ Contact participants to confirm, schedule, and retain.
+ Other duties as assigned.
**Minimum Qualifications**
+ High school diploma or graduation equivalent.
+ One year of related experience.
+ Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education beyond a high school diploma/graduation equivalent, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's Degree in a related field strongly preferred.
+ Must be comfortable working with patient populations.
+ Highly organized and capable of balancing multiple tasks at once, acting independently, and performing proactively.

Maintains office and grant files, including digital database, as well as document retention program. Insures accurate and speedy retrieval of Foundation documents;
Answers general phone and email inquires;
Maintains office calendar, including the Executive Director's;
Prepares all checks for signatures, maintains bank balances, and runs financial reports;
Initial review of all invoices for payment;
Monitors office communications via email, phone, and correspondence;
Maintains Foundation website;
Prepares documents for Board and Committee Meetings;
Represents the Foundation at designated professional meetings;
Prepares all grant documents and insures monitoring of receipt of grant documents and disbursement of funds;
Answers initial grant inquiries and/or forwards more complex inquiries to the Executive Director;
Is responsible for a portfolio of specific grant requests; including, initial recommendation, site visits, and evaluations;
Is privy to and maintains confidential Foundation information; and
Any other projects as may be assigned from time to time by the Executive Director.

Program operations and administration:
* Manages the full scope of the CSVCC program's operations, overseeing project activities from planning through completion, coordinating annual workshops and training initiatives, and ensuring clear, consistent communication across all key stakeholders to maintain alignment and achieve program objectives.

* Provides support to the CSVCC leaders in preparing the initial Scholars' AIMs and their annual refinement, coordinates annual evaluation of Scholars' progress and review of the AIMs, maintains Scholars' training and evaluation records including attendance at workshops and networking events, compiles list of outcomes and products that result from the Scholars' participation in CSVCC activities such as joint publications, joint grant proposals, funding received, new collaborations initiated, patents, commercialization, honors and awards, promotions or leadership appointments, and other relevant data including those recorded in the Transdisciplinary Research on Energetics and Cancer (TREC) surveys to generate metrics, trends, and accomplishment reports to guide the decision-making of the CSVCC leaders.

* Plan and execute external town hall events.
Graduate Education
* Assist LCPHA faculty in curriculum development, to include managing online learning platforms, assisting in material development, and coordinating with the Center for Teaching and Learning.
* Attend and speak at student events (such as orientation, career networking, etc.).
* Liaise with HPM academic office to monitor and update the Health Advocacy Certificate program, including course offerings, program reach, and student completion.
* Ensure curricula align with CEPH competencies and other public health policy and advocacy guidance.
* Identify and manage course revisions by department and school committees.
Center Activities
* Collaborate with the communications team to prepare slides for internal and external presentations.
* Advise on content and updates for online advocacy resource library and website.
* Assist with initiative evaluation and research studies as needed.
* Conduct analysis of participant survey responses and draft recommendations based on findings.
* Develop and maintain a process for onboarding faculty and professionals to serve as instructors for educational programs.
Minimum Qualifications
* Master's Degree in a related field.
* Three years related experience.
* Additional education may substitute for required experience, and additional related experience may substitute for required education beyond a high school diploma/graduation equivalent, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

* Expertise in project management and coordinating multiple teams.
* Interest in public health and public health advocacy.
* Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal.
