Pay Range $72,900.00-$100,200.00 Annual This is the base salary pay range that an applicant can expect to make upon hire. Pay within this range will vary based upon relevant experience, skills, and education among other factors. In addition, this position is eligible for an incentive bonus. The purpose of the Production Supervisor role is to supervise the day-to-day activities of an hourly production team for a single product line to ensure manufacturing operations run according to established production specifications and schedules; volume, cost and wastage targets; and quality standards. The supervisor will coordinate training, enforce safety guidelines, and interface with other departments in support of production. The Milan, Ohio facility compounds Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer (EPDM) into calendered rubber roofing commercial grade membrane. EPDM is a synthetic rubber single ply roofing membrane known for its durability, ease of installation, and superior weathering characteristics. Milan is a 120+ employee non-union facility, with an engaged, continuous-improvement minded workforce. Milan is a key facility of the Roofing Systems Division of Johns Manville, a Berkshire Hathaway Company. Your Day to Day: Supervise, train, and provide direction to production team Plan and schedule the utilization of equipment and maintain maximum productivity levels Investigate root causes issues that are related to scrap, process excursions, quality complaints and or fire investigations Ensure production team understands complies with established operating systems in safety, environmental, quality and process controls and the company's overall policies Utilize key operating indicators for control of product cost, material usage, machine downtime, expenditure control and other shift functions Accurately submit hours worked to payroll for all production employees in a timely manner Transmit production performance statistics concerns to Production Shift Leaders, Maintenance, and Superintendent and make recommendations for improvement Prepare labor, material and equipment usage reports May be required to perform other related duties as assigned What You Bring to the Team: High School diploma with a minimum of 3 years of operational leadership experience in a manufacturing environment Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of production processes Strong aptitude for learning and understanding company policies Solid understanding of OSHA regulations Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook Working knowledge of SAP or ERP systems Strong leadership skills Ability to work independently and in a team environment Manages a staff of approximately 20-30 hourly employees, sets direction and deploys resources. Responsible for performance evaluations, pay reviews, hiring and terminating. Work environment is typical of a manufacturing facility; may be exposed to environmental conditions of cold, heat, high noise levels, moving mechanical parts, heights, dust mist gas fumes, extensive walking or climbing, etc. Minimal travel required 0 - 10 days per year May be required to lift, carry, push or pull up to and including 50 pounds. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Team Development Provide daily leadership to production employees, setting clear expectations and modeling professionalism. Foster a culture of trust, teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement. Deliver real-time coaching and direction to help employees perform at their best. Conduct training, cross-training, and skill development activities to build a stronger workforce. Operational Execution Oversee daily production activities to meet output, efficiency, and quality targets. Ensure proper staffing levels and assign work based on skill, workload, and production priorities. Monitor shift performance indicators and take corrective action when needed. Coordinate with maintenance, quality, and logistics to resolve issues quickly and maintain smooth flow. Safety & Compliance Enforce company safety policies and drive a “zero-injury mindset.” Conduct safety observations, ensure PPE usage, and support incident investigations when necessary. Maintain compliance with all company procedures, SOPs, and quality standards. Communication & Reporting Lead daily startup meetings and deliver clear communication regarding goals, changes, and expectations. Document shift activities, incidents, and results through accurate reporting. Provide thorough handoff communication to next-shift supervision and management. Qualifications Qualifications Minimum 4 years of manufacturing experience required. At least 2 years of leadership experience (lead, coordinator, or supervisor) strongly preferred. Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. Proven ability to lead by example and hold others accountable respectfully and consistently. Experience with production reporting, KPIs, and basic root-cause problem solving. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and balance multiple priorities. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail. Demonstrated reliability, professionalism, and integrity.
