Job Description:
A feedmill operator is responsible for running the feedmill equipment to batch feed rations for the cattle. Job responsibilities include working with boilers, steamers, and flakers to produce feed, as well as observing and inspecting machinery to ensure that all equipment operates effectively, thereby minimizing production setbacks.
Location: Ulysses Feedyard in Ulysses, KS
Responsibilities:
Hourly position with wages based on qualifications, skills, and experience
Observe and follow the computer system to batch feed and detect maintenance tasks needed
Assist crew with daily mill housekeeping items, cleaning and organizing work areas
Maintain inventory of feedmill ingredients
Comply with safety practices, procedures, and mandatory regulations such as EPA, FDA, and OSHA

Requirements:

Mechanical knowledge and working knowledge of feedmill systems is a plus

Directs the work of an Economic and Employment Service (EES) team. Recruits, selects, assigns, and evaluates staff in keeping with state, regional and Kansas Organization of State Employees (KOSE) regulations. Establishes performance expectations, provides feedback, guidance, mentoring, monitoring, and motivation. Ensures coverage and provides back-up for team. Ensures resources are available to enable staff to complete their work effectively. Ensures work team follows methods and principles of Business Process Management (BPM) as outlined in the Business Process Manual.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Six years of experience interviewing, investigating, compiling information, documenting decisions, interpreting guidelines and/or providing technical assistance relevant to the agency's programs.
* If a driver's license is required, a copy must be uploaded with your application. *Must maintain Driver License throughout employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Case management experience, Eligibility determination: case documentation, caseload management, public interaction basic mathematics, data base management/ reporting. Social/Human service professional: disseminating information; crisis intervention, basic interview skills and techniques.
* Supervisory Experience
* DCF Experience
* Bi-lingual in English and Spanish.

* Security Clearance: A background check (KBI - criminal background, welfare fraud, driver's license and Child/Adult Abuse and Neglect Central Registry) is required for all positions with the Department for Children and Families (DCF) as a condition of employment, which may include fingerprinting and FBI check. Security clearance must be obtained prior to employment with DCF. Must maintain security clearance throughout employment.
