POSITION SUMMARY:
The Lead Metal Fabricator is responsible for executing, managing, and supervising all work assigned to their team. The Lead defines specific fabrication techniques and duties associated with the execution of the work. Monitors team labor hours. Responsible for quality and on-time delivery of all products by their team.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for understanding and adhering to the labor budgets for the work that is carried out in the fabrication department.
Accountable for executing to planned labor budgets. If the labor budgets are not sufficient, discussing why and suggesting alternate labor budgets that are signed off by the Shop Supervisor and Project Manager before the work is performed.
Responsible for creating work plans and developing execution strategies that reflect the specific quality and finish levels for the assigned products and completing them on schedule.
Responsible for material take offs and providing purchase requests in a timely manner so as to not impact schedules.
Responsible for maintaining a safe working environment and adhering to company policy for safe work practices. Identifies the required PPE for all hazardous practices and materials used in the course of the work. Ensures safety compliance of all employees assigned. Responsible for creating and monitoring a Job Hazard Analysis when indicated.
Responsible for maintaining the current 5S program and any other housekeeping responsibilities as set forth by Ownership or Production Management.
Responsible for training members of your team to improve the company's capabilities and efficiency.
Responsible to adhere to the CREO Industrial Arts Accident Prevention Program
QUALIFICATIONS:
3 years previous Metal Fabrication experience required, 5 years preferred
Aluminum MIG/TIG welding experience; Steel is a bonus
General understanding of custom “one off” business principles.
Excellent Written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to understand metal fabrication concepts and shop drawings.
WABO/AWS certification desired
Experience with power sheet metal tools (Brake, Punch, Shear) preferred.
WORKING HOURS:
Monday through Thursday; 5am to 3:30pm
