How you will do it * · Completes typical installation hardware design and software programming using established standards as the need arises. Validates complete system functionality and resolves issues with subcontractors and others to accurate proper operation. Provides accurate project as-built and commissioning documentation. * · Evaluates the contractual scope of work and the impact of client issued bulletins, field directives and/or scheduling changes. Communicates both technical and business related issues with the clients. Actively pursues additional work through change orders. * · Leads and completes the loading, device verification, and commissioning of all system controllers as the need arises. * Provides jobsite coordination for panel and field device physical locations. Ensuring installation is in accordance with Johnson Controls literature and project requirements. * Optimally communicates the status of projects to management as the need arises and provides monthly forecasts of revenue, costs, and gross margin. * Develops project plans and coordinates the required resources to ensure accurate and cost effective installation and completion of assigned projects. * Performs site-specific training for owner/operator on the total system in full or with assistance. Provides accurate documentation and manuals for system operation. * Sends warranty letter to customer upon meaningful completion of project and ensures proper execution of warranty. * Provides detailed information to communicate design and operation to customers, Johnson Controls staff and subcontractors. * Provides coaching, mentoring and technical assistance to System Technicians, Electrical Installers, System Designers and Subcontractors. * Ensures that delegated tasks are done accurately, on-time, billed, within budget and within scope of the contract. * Develops and maintains viable long-term relationships with contractors, clients, consultants and subcontractors. * Attends job progress meetings as required. * Adheres and ensures Johnson Controls staff and subcontractors make sure to all safety standards. * Is responsible for the selection, ordering, budget and delivery schedule of materials to be procured for the projects assigned. * Secures pricing and availability from outside vendors and suppliers, mechanical and electrical subcontractors including scope, terms and conditions. May request several bids in pricing process. * Handles costs, billings and collections. Completes project billings in a timely and accurate format to the client. Maintains profitability goals and positive cash flow. * Is responsible for subcontractor payment and billing processes. This role will report to the Operations Leader Roll Shop of the Cold Mill Manufacturing Unit. The primary focus of this position is to operate any of the three roll grinding machines and produce high quality ground rolls in strict compliance with our quality standards. In addition, the Grinder Operator takes part in adapting, developing and adjusting the roll grinding and inspection procedures, working closely with the Operations Leader and Process Engineering. Responsibilities & Qualifications The Novelis Bay Minette, AL team is seeking a Process Utilities Engineer to serve on the Central Services team for the plant. The ideal candidate is responsible for the operation, optimization, and maintenance and reliability oversight of the utility systems supporting aluminum coil production. These systems include compressed air systems, cooling towers, process and deionized water systems, wastewater treatment, firewater infrastructure. The role ensures utility reliability, energy efficiency, regulatory compliance, and alignment with plant production needs. This role develops and implements solutions, with a focus on meeting engineering and process specifications and permit compliance. Responsibilities: Adopt the Novelis Safety Principles to build a zero-injury culture and the Novelis cultural beliefs of Be Open, Build Trust, Say Anything and Be Authentic! Oversee daily performance and reliability of utility systems (e.g., power, air, water) using SCADA, DCS, and Process Data Historians. Provide technical support to ensure systems are operating efficiently and processes are properly tuned by leveraging expertise in process automation, control and instrumentation. Collaborate with the lab to validate process performance and resolve process related issues. Identify and implement energy efficiency and cost-saving initiatives. Lead or support capital projects, including scope definition, budgeting, and execution. Specify and procure equipment such as pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, and other utility support equipment. Develop preventive and predictive maintenance strategies in collaboration with reliability and maintenance teams. Support asset criticality analysis and root cause failure analysis (RCFA) for repeated issues. Ensure all systems align with environmental permits (air, water, waste) and PSM / RMP regulations. Support process hazard analyses (PHA), management of change (MOC), and mechanical integrity inspections. Create and maintain SOPs, P&IDs, and O&M manuals. Train operators and technicians on system operation and safety procedures. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Process Engineering. Experience: 5+ years in industrial utilities process or water and wastewater treatment systems, preferably in aluminum, steel, pulp and paper, petrochemical, oil & gas, chemical manufacturing, or power generation industries. Strong understanding of treatment processes, including hydraulics, chemistry, biology, and polymers, and their integration into equipment operation Certifications (preferred): PE license, Energy Manager (CEM), or similar proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, PI System, CMMS (e.g., SAP PM), and project scheduling tools. Preferred Qualifications: Technical Competencies in thermodynamics and heat transfer, furnace system, heat exchanger, and energy balance.
