What you will do
Under general direction is responsible for the sale of Johnson Controls, building automation offerings to mechanical contractors, designers, and consulting engineers. Promote the Johnson Controls value proposition to construction community by providing business and technical solutions. Builds and runs long term customer relationships/partnerships with assigned accounts. Responsible for customer satisfaction and loyalty while working in conjunction with operations partners. Positions renewable service agreements as a foundation of run account relationships.

Sells, with minimal direction, the Johnson Controls offerings persuasively, persistently and confidently to all members of the construction community to include contractors, consultants and designers while reaching optimal profit levels. Focuses on all opportunities to allow the contractor to achieve business objectives. Runs multiple, ongoing opportunities.
Builds partnering relationships with the owner construction community responsible for the decision-making process to drive the sale of Johnson Control offerings. Actively listens, probes and identifies concerns. Understands the customer's business cycle customer base. Demonstrates technical and business expertise and maintains a high level of credibility. Garners loyalty, trust, and commitment from the customer.
Seeks out, targets and initiates contact with multiple prospective customers in alignment with JCI strategy. Develops and maintains a network of industry contacts. Understands and uses the sales process outcomes as well as demonstrates evidence of advancing the sell. Shares technical knowledge plus business expertise with the customer to match the solution to the customer's operational need and favorably position Johnson Controls. Qualifies and assesses potential customers.
Addresses customer's operational and environmental objectives, needs and requirements. Recommends solutions and links customer objectives to total value solution and competitive advantage. Differentiates Johnson Controls services and products from competitors by applying creativity, resourcefulness, and innovation in a valuable sales approach.
Acts as the customer's advocate in interactions with Johnson Controls to ensure the customer acquires the best value from Johnson Controls offerings. Sets appropriate customer expectations on Johnson Controls offerings. Participates in final project inspection. Ensures that the customer is trained and oriented to system operation and the value of services delivered.

What you will do
Our Early Career Technical Sales (BEST) Program is a 6-month technical sales development program for Recent College Graduates that focuses on creating market share by strategic selling Johnson Controls' Fire products and services to commercial customers. In this program you will have a chance to apply your technical knowledge and business acumen to work with customers to better understand their product and project needs by being the subject matter expert. As part of the program, you will participate in a 6-month training and development program combining classroom, field orientation, and on the job training. What You Will Do:

Job Overview :
The Field Service Technician for Ingersoll Rand's Compression Systems and Services Division serves customers by installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining all makes of rotary screw and reciprocating and/or Centac and ECC air compressors, along with additional compressed air system components. You will use precision measuring tools for diagnostic troubleshooting of compressed air equipment. In addition, you need to have knowledge of all operations and parts manuals associated with all equipment.
Responsibilities :
In addition to performing preventative maintenance on Ingersoll Rand compressed air equipment, our service techs will interact with customers to address existing and unanticipated equipment concerns. Collaborate with Service Coordinator on ordering and gathering parts and supplies necessary to complete installations and repairs. All service technicians will assist and train apprentices and Field Service Technicians.

* Effectively communicates verbally and in writing with customers and co-workers.
* Provides technical assistance on equipment pre-commissioning and start-ups, installations, and repairs of compressed air systems. Including "hands-on" work to assure equipment operates to customer's requirement with limited guidance from the Master Technician.
* Increases Ingersoll Rand customers awareness of how Ingersoll Rand products, services, and solutions, such as Preventative Maintenance, Diagnostics, Audits and Leak Detection can benefit their operations.
Requirements :
* 2 years+ experience of troubleshooting industrial/commercial mechanical systems.
* Must possess a valid driver's license for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations including, but not limited to: DUI in the previous 5 years, Hit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless/Careless Driving or multiple smaller infractions or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years.
* Every service technician is required to be on-call, but you will not be on-call for the first 90 days to get used to the schedule. This is shared with every service tech, and it requires being available 24/7 for the 1-week duration where you will go to customer sites. On-call weeks can be as often as every 4 weeks or greater than 4 weeks, but that will be determined by the hiring manager.
* This position is highly physical and requires regular use of hands, fingers, walking, stooping, and kneeling. It requires employees to regularly lift and or move weight limits in line with the safety policy.
* High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Core Competencies :
* Able to read wiring schematics and diagrams for all equipment.
* Advanced network systems installations (IMMC/ASC, X Series Automation).
* Basic vibration troubleshooting.
* Basic Air Quality (system compressor/dryer - air treatment).

What you will do
Our Early Career Sales Engineering (BEST) Program is a 6-month technical sales development program for Recent College Graduates that focuses on creating market share by strategic selling Johnson Controls' HVAC products and services to commercial customers. In this program you will have a chance to apply your technical engineering knowledge and business acumen to work with customers to better understand their product and project needs by being the subject matter expert. As part of the program, you will participate in a 6-month training and development program combining classroom, field orientation, and on the job training. You will learn our mechanical equipment and service offerings, customer relationship techniques and leadership skills in preparation for supporting customers in your territory alongside the sales team. You will be prepared to consult with architects, engineers, and building owners on product selections; partner with and learn from internal experts and deliver on business goals. You will be a critical part of a local sales team and a national network of sales professionals.
How you will do it
Estimate job bids and prepare proposals with contractors, architects and building owners
Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors
Complete sales calls to generate new business and build on existing relationships
Present solutions to customers for consideration
Collect and analyze market intelligence
Turn projects over to operations team for execution and installations
What we look for
Required:
Currently pursuing an Engineering bachelor's degree and graduating by December 2025 or June 2026
Strong analytical ability to solve programs and ability to learn quickly
Ability to manage multiple projects and cross-functional teams with minimum guidance
Strong communication and teamwork skills
U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency
Preferred:
Mechanical or Industrial Engineering Degree, strongly preferred
Previous sales or engineering experiences through co-ops, internships, part-time or full-time jobs (preferred)

How you will do it:
* Follow prescribed troubleshooting procedures and refer to technical manuals, part manuals, change notices and bulletins, modification notices, etc. to repair equipment.
* Service, troubleshoot, and install card access, CCTV, and burglar alarm systems.
* Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications software/systems, programs, schematics, and operational product manuals.
* Exhibit effective customer service skills by consistently communicating with staff and customers to ensure customer satisfaction.
* Complete Service Acknowledgements with proper coding through communication devices such as smart phones and laptop computers.
* Obtain customer signature upon completed service call assignment.
* Available for on-call emergency service.
* Provide recommendations and solutions to ensure facility is running efficiently to include upselling opportunities.
* Provide quotes to support recommendations and solutions.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
What we look for:
Required
* 1-3 years documented experience with card access and CCTV.
* Knowledge of test equipment, multi-meter, digital analyzer, and commissioning devices.
* Experience installing, inspecting, repairing, and programming card access and CCTV.
* Fire alarm experience is a plus.
* Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, submittals, and operational/product manuals.
* Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
* Capable of performing physical labor to include carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50-70 lbs.
* Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult position such as climbing ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 40 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.
* Demonstrate a high level of customer service.
* Maintain truck inventory to ensure timely response to customer needs.
* Ability to adhere to, implement, and always follow safety guidelines and procedures.
* Strong organizational skills, positive attitude, and an ability to learn quickly.
* Possess a valid driver's license and driving record that meets company requirements.
* Able to pass a pre-employment background and drug test.
* Retain any licenses that are required by National, State and Local codes.
* Knowledge of applicable NFPA standards.

* Low Voltage License
Pay Range: $21.00 - 42.00 hourly rate determined by the CBA/rate sheet. Benefits are provided through a local labor union aligned with a collective bargaining agreement.
