What you will do:
Under general direction is responsible for the sale of Johnson Controls BE offerings to owners at the Director and/or Vice President level. Promote the Johnson Controls value proposition to building owners end users by providing business and technical solutions.

What You Will Do

The Technology team of R&D Americas, located in Kennesaw Georgia, is seeking an experienced Engineer/Technologist in the Surface Treatment and Corrosion testing laboratories. This position plays a critical role in the laboratories that handle lab testing, develop new methods, operate and maintain test equipment, resolve equipment issues, design and implement next generation capabilities to improve existing setup. R&D Americas performs R&D projects and delivers innovation in advanced aluminum alloys with special surface characteristics that meet Novelis customers' requirements and supports Novelis manufacturing plants worldwide. The laboratories are set up to simulate real-production surface treatment processes in automotive/other OEMs and in-service corrosive environment. The Corrosion Labs includes 12 humidity chambers, one of them is dedicated specifically to adhesive/aluminum bond durability in extreme conditions.
The incumbent will work closely with Surface/Corrosion scientists to conduct research work that would include experiments design, testing, data interpretation and data analysis of the results through various laboratory based corrosion tests such as continuous neutral salt spray, cyclic corrosion testing (e.g. G85-A2), adhesive bond durability testing; surface treatment lab includes surface cleaning & etching, chemical conversion coating (e.g. Zn-phosphating), electrochemical oxidation (e.g. anodizing) and chemical bath characterization techniques (e.g. titration). A successful candidate will develop an in-depth knowledge of specialized surface treatment process/corrosion testing, while providing technical expertise/support to routine tests and non-routine experiments.
This role is a full-time on-site role.
Individual pay will vary based on qualifications, experience, and performance. In addition to base salary, this position includes participation in a short-term incentive plan.
Responsibilities
Prepare samples for Surface treatment/Corrosion testing according to work request or method specifications for tests
Conduct Surface treatment/Corrosion testing for research projects and implement design of experiments with high quality and minimal guidance. Compile lab reports with data analysis and interpretation.
Perform and develop thorough understanding of routine tasks in the Surface Treatment/Corrosion labs, developing specialization in these areas.
Apply working knowledge and in-depth understanding of surface treatment process and corrosion testing to contribute to the technical feasibility analysis for projects and provide technical guidance.
Use lab management software to plan and complete specific task requests for various Surface/Corrosion work packages - communicate task updates to partners.
Use equipment in a safe operating manner and in compliance with Novelis safety standards. Ensure Standard Operating Procedures and Quality System protocols are followed when operating lab equipment.
Handle and dispose of hazardous materials (e.g., acids, solvents) in accordance with safety procedures. Complete all required on-the-job training and maintain necessary certifications.
Identify and correct hazards or unsafe practices in immediate work area or routine tasks and report to supervisor or site EHS lead.
Use the application of standard scientific practices, principles, theories, concepts and techniques to ensure quality.
Work with teams to identify improvements or modifications to equipment and processes to enhance effectiveness, accuracy, and efficiency.
Develop new testing capabilities (new equipment) and testing methods. Prepare Work Instructions and maintain proper documentation.
Minimum qualifications
Engineering Degree in Materials Science, Metallurgical/Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or relevant field of study.
3 to 5 years' experience performing routine tasks and non-routine experiments in specific Surface treatment process/Corrosion testing.
Knowledge and understanding of good safe lab practices.
Knowledge of chemical handling and chemical mixing
Broad experience with testing and measuring equipment, and laboratory testing tools. Mechanical proficiency and enjoy hands-on work.
Experience in designing and implementing new capabilities within the Surface Treatment process and Corrosion testing labs
Ability to coordinate and prioritize responsibility; must be able to manage multiple tasks without compromising the quality of work and data
An interest in critical thinking, problem solving and attention to details; strong communication (verbal/written) and presentation skills for reporting to internal collaborators
Proficient with computers and their applications to collect, store, and analyze data and images (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).

MANUFACTURING OPERATIONS:
Oversees manufacturing operations for an entire value stream within a plant.
Own and prepare the annual operational plan/playbook for a manufacturing value stream.
Responsible for operational performance and improvement of key metrics including safety, quality, delivery, cost and culture.
Align area metrics with overall plant goals; organize resources to deliver on these metrics.
Lead activities of cross-functional manufacturing team, to include responsibility for salaried and hourly team members within the assigned business unit.
Direct Reports include Area Leader (AL), Team Leaders (TL) and Indirect: Team Members.
Utilize production line boards to collect information on value stream performance, issue identification and problem resolution. Ensure information is passed on to the following shift and management. Hold team accountable to maintain and manage the boards. * Maintain a good technical knowledge of operations; follow the escalation process to address and respond to abnormalities and recommend corrective action as required.
Ensure the Lean manufacturing practices and Escalation Process set forth under the Appliance Production System are followed and adhered to within the value stream manufacturing operations.
Manage and track all department metrics and budget. Prepare daily report-out of metrics for production meeting.
Establish daily operating rhythm in department. Conduct daily start up meeting with TL's and AL's. Maintain rigor around daily team leader meetings, escalation meetings, etc.
Prepare topics for daily team meetings; ensure team leaders understand and cascade the message appropriately and correctly. Rotate through the team meetings each day.
Oversee the deployment of standardized work within the value stream operation. Ensure process stability through following standardized work.
Coach and develop Area Leaders and Team Leaders to ensure standardized work is in place and is followed.
Ensure adherence to Job Instruction method by reviewing and verifying Job Instruction forms, including cross training matrix, and Team Leader delivery of four step method to ensure ‘Critical Points' and ‘Why' are conveyed accurately and effectively.
Ensure 5S standards are met for the entire value stream.
CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT:
Live, promote and teach the Appliance
Production System philosophy and drive continuous improvement within the value
stream operation.
Lead and promote work team(s) that react aggressively to factory
inefficiencies. Drive problem-solving and root cause identification of problems
for the entire value stream.
Engage all members of cross-functional escalation team to address and
resolve problems, ex. Area Leaders, Team Leaders, Kaizen
Promotion Office and other Lean resources
Continuously identify and work to reduce waste in the area for both short term
and long term improvement initiatives.
Serve as a second-level responder within the escalation process for
problems/issues within the value stream operation.
Lead regular meetings to review department issues. Prioritize and assign
ownership for open items. Track items to closure and ensure follow-up with
key stakeholders.
Champion kaizen events within department. Ensure related countermeasures
are implemented on manufacturing line(s).
Oversee the planning and execution of work area re-balancing utilizing
Yamazumi charts.
LEADERSHIP:
Provide active day-to-day leadership for a highly energized,
integrated, cross-functional manufacturing team.
Create goals for each member of the team. Ensure individual career
coaching, performance feedback, employee training and talent development.
Participate in the annual performance review process.
Lead employee disciplinary investigation and action as appropriate. Partner with HR to conduct timely investigations when necessary. Complete accurate and thorough disciplinary records with supporting documentation.
Recruit resources to fill team needs in a timely fashion.
Develop and mentor future leaders for the business.
Partner with site Human Resources team to ensure fair and consistent administration of all policies, work rules and processes.
QUALITY:
Ensure the products produced within the entire value stream operation
are defect-free and produced according to specifications.
Ensure Manufacturing Control Plan (MCP) and all quality
processes/standards are followed within entire value stream.
Monitor manufacturing processes, data & reports on a daily basis and drive
the resolution or escalation for any defect.
Ensure Team Leaders include quality standards in Standardized
Work to meet design intent and build in quality.
Work cross-functionally with multiple stakeholders to address and solve
production line quality issues (i.e. Team Leader, engineering, quality).
Monitor scrap data/reports to drive resolution of scrap issues and work
projects to prevent future scrap.
Partner with Plant Quality staff and engineering to drive improvements in key
quality metrics, including First Pass Yield, Overall Yield and Service Call Rate
(SCR) metrics.
SAFETY:
Responsible for the overall safety performance and metrics for the
value stream operation.
Promote a strong safety-minded culture in the value stream. Maintain an
active safety program, ensuring the observation of safety precautions and
safe work methods by all personnel, including behavior-based safety
observations, safety meetings, safety audits and 5S housekeeping standards.
Enforce compliance to safety rules and procedures, timely accident
investigations, Safety Contacts and Safe Start participation.
Review and sign off on all accident investigations. Ensure they are completed
in a timely manner and identify root cause and corrective action to drive
required changes.
Manage the department's safety action item list, including corrective actions
from near misses, accident reports & ergo assessments.
What You'll Bring to Our Team
Position Requirements:
7 years' leadership experience and technical acumen within a manufacturing operation.
Demonstrated ability to teach, to facilitate meetings, to provide constructive feedback and listen actively.
Able to identify, analyze and resolve problems in multi-functional settings.

Must have demonstrated skills in achievement of business goals and change implementation.
Preferred Qualifications:
BS Engineering (IE, ME or EE) or equivalent.
7 years of experience in manufacturing/plant operations.
Black Belt/MBB certification with strong knowledge of Lean, DMAIC, workout and other change mechanisms.
Demonstrated accomplishments showing results-driven methodology, analytical methods, schedule achievement, team work.
Lean Manufacturing implementation experience.
Strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal and leadership influencing skills.
Working Conditions:
Working conditions are normal for both an office and manufacturing environment.
Work may involve lifting of materials and product up to 25 pounds.

What You'll Do

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to the following:
Provides technical information, support, and training to a large volume of general customers, METUS field personnel, and factory-trained Diamond Contractors via phone, email, and private forums.
Solves complex technical problems associated with METUS residential, commercial, and controls equipment, and all accessories.
Provides technical support and education on METUS controls systems and networks.
Provides product support for all new service-related tools.
Able to relay the basic concepts and principles such as AC/DC theory, inductance, and digital communications.
Reads and understands wiring schematics, refrigerant circuit diagrams, and computer programs to convey information to customers.
Participate in new product investigations with training department to understand technical support needs and develop support resources for department peers.
Assist in rework of product, when necessary, which includes factory software rewriting on all products.
Attends on-site advanced technical training events to increase product knowledge and support capabilities.

QUALIFICIATIONS
High School graduate or equivalent.
7 years field experience.
2 years of attendance of Air Conditioning / HVAC Program(s) at Technical College is preferred.
NATE Certified is preferred.
Ability to communicate professionally and effectively, both verbally and in writing, with Spanish or any bilingual ability a plus.
Strong customer orientation and interpersonal skills, with an ability to translate complex thoughts and ideas and communicate them in an easy-to-understand form.

Influence the development of PEFCR for aluminum
Understand PEF application for aluminum. Where this methodology impacts the commercial teams and how our customers might expect our reporting against the standard

The essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to the following:
Provide technical support and guidance through each phase of the sales process - i.e. lead generation, conversion, deal closing and post-sales process. Participate in customer discovery calls, weekly meetings with factories and research needed for customer inquiries.
Support Customer's compressor approval process (laboratory tests, simulations, start-up, etc).
Provide field support and training by traveling to job sites to assist with product installation and hands-on training.
Answer technical inquiries, document solutions, and ensure the efficient operation of Compressors through tasks like email consultation, product training, and managing escalations.
Ensure a positive support experience for internal and external customers by developing strong relationships and building trust through an exemplary professional attitude and an inquisitive approach to understanding customers' needs.
Maintain accurate tracking and documentation of customer requests, product issues, or new business proposals using SharePoint system to organize and prioritize needs while ensuring the highest standards of accuracy are met.
Champion the use of Microsoft Office 365 applications across the business to replace “one-off” solutions and support process improvement.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, the competitive landscape and current issues affecting compressors.
Collaborate with global teams and serve as an ambassador for the sales team.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Degree in Mechanical Engineering (preferred), or related.
Familiar with the following systems or applications: Microsoft Suite, including PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint, OneNote, etc.

What you will do
The primary role of the Fire Alarm Designer is to design fire alarm systems for Johnson Controls projects. Acting as a design lead on large complex multi-faceted projects and directing other members of the design team supporting these projects
How you will do it
Organizes and plans own workload, helps to direct workload of less experienced design team members, and additionally works with other design teams when required.
Facilitates reviews of initial designs of medium complexity to provide value engineered/code compliant solutions where required.

The Sales Engineer is a key technical contributor to our Southeast Enterprise Sales Team, responsible for helping meet or exceed the organization's annual financial commitments. What You'll Bring to Our Team
Successful candidates for the Tooling Technician role should have strong die trouble shooting skills, AutoCAD, CAD-CAM experience and be able to work in hot and humid industrial manufacturing environment.
Additional requirements for applicants to the Tooling Technician role include:
• HS diploma or equivalent required. 2-year degree from an accredited technical college or post-secondary school with emphasis in Tool and Die or minimum of five years on the job training with industrial manufacturing facility. Journeyman certification is preferred.
• 5-10 years of experience in maintaining or building dies in the stamping industry.
• Good understanding of die maintenance and upkeep.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints and die designs.
• Experience and Knowledge of Machining Center, Programming, set- up, and operation is a plus.
• CNC EDM set up and operation experience is a plus.
• Experience as a Machinist, or Die-Maker's Helper is a plus.
• A strong desire to accept tooling challenges and take them on to help the company succeed is a must.
