This is a fast-paced operation where the leader thrives in a dynamic, high-mix manufacturing environment with tight customer schedules and concurrent NPI/ECN (New Product Introduction/Engineering Change Notice) activity. You will ensure compliance to ISO 9001 and internal standards, drive problem solving and continuous improvement, champion Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) for new and changed products, and collaborate cross-functionally to meet customer requirements, reduce warranty risk, and improve First Pass Yield (FPY), Customer Escapes, scrap, and Cost of Poor Quality (CoPQ). How you will do it QMS Leadership & Compliance * Own the site Quality Management System (QMS); ensure processes are established, implemented, maintained, and effective in accordance with ISO 9001 and company policies. * Serve as Management Representative for audits; plan, host, and close actions from external and internal audits. * Maintain documented information: procedures, work instructions, control plans, records, and calibration systems. Production Quality Performance * Lead daily quality operations (incoming, in‑process, final) to achieve FPY and defect reduction targets. * Manage Material Review Board (MRB) and Corrective Action Request (CAR) processes; ensure timely disposition and systemic corrective actions. * Deploy Statistical Process Control (SPC) and capability studies; validate process changes and eradicate special causes. Customer & Field Quality / Warranty * Prevent, contain, and resolve customer‑impacting issues; coordinate spill containment and certified product releases as required. * Partner with Finance/Service to analyze warranty trends; drive root cause analysis and permanent corrective actions to reduce claim rates and cost. * Communicate transparently with stakeholders on quality alerts, escalations, and recovery plans. Supplier Quality Collaboration * Work with Supplier Development & Performance (SD&P) and SQE teams to address supplier defects (Root Cause Analysis/8D), enforce Controlled Shipping, and resolve SMRR/DMR items. * Support supplier qualification and APQP/PPAP deliverables; ensure incoming quality conformance and robust change management. APQP / NPI / Engineering Change * Lead plant deliverables for APQP, PFMEA, Control Plan, Measurement System Analysis (MSA), and validation builds. * Ensure Engineering Change Notices (ECN) affecting plant product are implemented with risk assessment, verification, and updated documentation. Systems & Data * Leverage enterprise QMS/issue‑tracking systems (e.g., IRIS currently; PLEX QMS as deployed) to record, analyze, and close issues; maintain data integrity. * Develop, publish, and review weekly/monthly dashboards for FPY, Customer Escapes, scrap, CoPQ, warranty, and supplier performance. Governance & Communication * Run tiered quality meetings; provide clear status, risks, and decisions to plant leadership and the Director of Quality. * Prepare concise reports and executive readouts; escalate critical risks promptly with containment and recovery plans. People Leadership & Culture * Build and lead a high‑performing team (quality engineers/technicians); set objectives, coach, and develop capabilities. * Promote Zero Harm and quality mindset across operations; facilitate training (Train‑the‑Trainer) and audit readiness. Serves as the main point of contact for customers, suppliers, and colleagues to effectively execute project deliverables. Reviews submittal requirements and all technical requirements of project. Ensures project execution team develops submittals in accordance with project requirements and timelines. Works with third party vendors to ensure submittals for buyout items are developed in accordance with specifications. Upon receiving approved technical submittal from customer, works with the project execution team to ensure all equipment is released to the appropriate parties. Ensures intercompany purchase orders and documentation is released to have product offering placed into production. Ensures project execution team procures all products from the appropriate parties. Works with third party vendors to acquire buyout items. Partners with procurement team to maintain project profitability by managing cost of products from third parties. Works with internal systems and colleagues to obtain Xylem products from internal warehouses. Ensure compliance with project schedules. Works closely with project execution team, Operations, Supply Chain, and other internal colleagues to manage customer deadlines and project requirements. Maintains continuous contact with customers to manage customer expectations regarding project timeline and deliverables. Ensures project execution team receives any necessary testing approval. Works closely with engineering and operations if any testing is not approved to determine next steps to obtain approval. Ensures project execution team develops O&Ms in alignment with project requirements and schedule and ensures project execution team ships, delivers, and bills equipment in accordance with delivery and invoicing plans. Works with freight forwarder to understand estimated deliver timelines and works to adjust if needed. Works closely with customer and internal team members to understand risks and mitigate potential delays. Takes a proactive approach to manage deliveries and customer expectations. Coordinates start-up and commissioning services. Ensures project execution team bills in accordance with invoicing plan. Works closely with customers to ensure expectations are met and helps to ensure proper project close out. Creates project handover to aftermarket for further aftermarket support. Participation in Xylem Watermark volunteer activities Minimum Qualifications: Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities, License/Certification: Bachelor Degree with PMP (or similar designation) preferred 3-5+ years' of relevant experience Willingness and ability to provide superior customer support at all times. Effective interpersonal skills with customers, coworkers, and management team Strong teamwork and organizational skills with the ability to multi-task. Proven experience developing and driving a safety culture improvement plan, implementing key safety initiatives focusing on injury prevention and behavior-based safety and in building a strong compliance calendar to ensure regulatory compliance across all EHS programs.
