Job Responsibilities
Build Mechanical sub-assemblies, final assemblies and any other Mechanical task for the job.
Follow safety procedures/ training as outlined and identified by Fori Automation management, MIOSHA, and OSHA.
Complete as required in process QC check sheets.
Complete as required QC audits.
Assure good craftsmanship on jobs that are being built.
Follow good housekeeping practices.
Take direction from Leader and/or Supervisor
Provide feedback on job status to Mechanical Assembly Leader.
Know and understand due dates for jobs and schedule work accordingly.
Follow-up with supervisor on daily basis to report progress of job(s) being worked on.
Assist in disassembly, packing and loading of machines for shipment.
Fill-in where required for absences.
Order material and follow-up with receiving when required.
Assist in start-up/de-bug of equipment.
Recommend as appropriate work methods and/or materials that will improve existing designs.
Travel as needed to assist in installations, de-bug, tryout, or problem solving at customer locations.
Read and interpret build prints. Work with Mechanical Engineers and build Leaders to correct any problems with design of the machine/controls.
Recommend, initiate, and follow-up as needed on engineering changes and document according to ECO procedures.
Work on continuous improvement projects as needed.
Support special assignments as needed.
Provide training and assistance to new employees.

Key Responsibilities
Develop CNC and laser programs from engineering drawings, CAD files, and product specifications.

The Sanding and Robot Operator - 3rd Shift position sets up, operates and maintains multiple robotic sanding cells as trained and instructed to meet or exceed defined production targets.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties as assigned)
Operates multiple robotic sanding cells with the loading and unloading of helmets to maximize robot time sanding while also ensuring quality.
Identify helmet models to be sanded and correctly set the machine fixturing to ensure quality sanding.
Load and unload helmets from the fixturing proplerly.
Organize and maintain the machine fixturing so that they can be easily found as needed.
Operate the computer controls of each cell to select the proper program for the paint color being sanded.
Load the robot sanding tool as needed with the proper sand paper grit per the program running.
Change the interface pads and backup pads on each cell running as needed to maintain quality sanding.
Identify and communicate issues quickly to the GrayMatter Team using the Hot Line and the Team Viewer communication tool.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum of 2 years' experience in mold making, mold repair and/or mold maintenance.
Willing to train and develop mold making technical skills/knowledge.

Proficiently speak, read, and understand English.
Must be a critical thinker, able to analyze and evaluate facts and circumstances that affect an issue.
Must be able to clearly communicate information orally and in written form.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma or equivalent.
3+ years' experience in mold making, mold repair and/or mold maintenance.
Ability to conceptualize.
Experience driving a forklift.

Primary Function:
Repairs and maintains injection molding tooling. Troubleshoots issues related to tooling and provides technical support to shop floor.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Supports manufacturing by repairing and adjusting injection molds, dies, fixtures and tooling.
Works with cross functional teams to ensure tooling meets customer specifications.
Troubleshoots issues related to tooling and provides technical support as needed.
Repairs and maintains hot-runner molds.
Additional Responsibilities:
Maintains data on locations of all customer owned tooling.
Audits and updates tool room inventory (spare components, supplies, etc.).
Ensures machine tools, measuring devices and other equipment are in good, safe working condition.
Requirements:
Required Skill/Knowledge:
Minimum 1-2 years' experience mold repair and troubleshooting injection mold tooling, ability to work from complex prints and tool drawings, Experience using, mills, lathes, grinders and hand tools, strong mathematical skills, multi-tasking, pneumatics and hydraulics, electrical knowledge, knowledge of plastic resins, experience in repair of hot runner systems, collaborative, able to work under time constraints. Able and willing to interface with molds to repair while still in the press. overhead crane usage and forklifts
Preferred Skills/ Knowledge:
Experience with unscrewing molds, welding, knowledge of LSR (liquid silicone rubber), mold maker certification.
Education Level / Required Certification:
High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
Additional Information:
Must have own transportation and valid drivers license for travel between plants. Physical requirements may include long periods of sitting, standing, stairs, kneeling, climbing, bending, stooping and lifting up to 35 pounds. Will be exposed to the odor of plastics, required to work in small tight spaces and climb ladders. May operate overhead crane. Must have ability to wear required PPE. Will be part of on call rotation. Must be able to work OT and off shifts as needed. Other duties as required.
