Essential duties and responsibilities
Utilizes special tools and specialized equipment to diagnose mechanic failures and problems
Installs and/or adjusts brakes, heaters, defrosters, and tires
Operates vehicle to diagnose problems and validate that repairs have been completed
Provides quality repairs and achieves time per repair standards
Receives inbound phone calls from Repair Coordinator and provides excellent customer service to drivers
Follow all safety protocols to include wearing protective gear and maintain a clean and safe work environment
Performs other related duties as assigned
Requirements
Based on the technical and professional responsibilities of the position, you are required to have:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Minimum of 2 years' experience with 53'/48' equipment with component training certifications or trailer tech certifications
Own basic set of tools
Valid Class A license, minimum 6 months experience

From an assigned service truck which technicians can park at his/her residence, technicians will service our equipment at customers from Buffalo to Rochester, NY.
Required Experience:
Rite-Hite sells the best and we hire the best. This position requires experience welding and working with mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems. Prior experience in the repair or installation of industrial equipment is preferred. Selected candidate must be able to work independently in a field environment. Good customer service skills are required. This position requires the ability to work outdoors, at heights, and lift up to 100 pounds. As this position requires driving a company vehicle, a pre-employment drug test and clean driving record are required, as is a DOT physical.
Additional Information:
The pay range for this position is $24-$35/hr, based on industry experience. We take geographic differentials into consideration in areas of higher cost of living. We offer nine paid holidays (New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Day After Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year's Eve). New employees are eligible for up to two weeks of vacation (pro-rated based on hire date within 1st year of employment). We offer additional paid time off based on tenure. Based on time in the job, you will be eligible for additional PTO (vacation, sick leave, etc.). We offer 56 hours PTO (1 hour for every 40 worked) to employees in New York.

Required Qualifications
Education

Skills & Abilities
Proficiency in cash handling and accurate payment transactions.
High comfort level with personal technology, including mobile devices and video platforms and proficiency in computer applications.
Basic math skills.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English and to prioritize, organize, manage multiple tasks and handle change effectively.
Familiarity with goal- and incentive-based work environments.
Strong performance in a fast-paced team environment.
Effective communication with employees and customers in person, on the phone and in writing.
Highly effective interpersonal skills for building partnerships across the organization.
Self-motivated, competitive spirit with a desire to exceed sales goals.
