Education:
* Minimum Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related degree is required; advanced degree preferred.
Minimum Requirements:
* Minimum of 6-8 years with Bachelors' or 4-6 with Masters' in a New Product Development environment with 4+ years in direct software engineering or software architectural role.
* A goal-oriented and performance-focused attitude, demonstrating a high level of accountability.
* Deep understanding of various embedded/system software design tools, operating systems and programming languages (e.g. Jira, Jama, Linux, QNX, Qt, C/C++/C#, JSON-RPC, Python, etc.).
* Proven experience with embedded software design is required.

We are looking for an exceptional Embedded Software Engineer to join our team in building our smart neuromodulation platform for memory restoration. The successful applicant will play a key role in developing and enhancing the firmware for our implantable and wearable devices, including the Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) interface with a patient-facing mobile application. This will shape how patients interact with the world's first memory-restoring implantable device.

RESPONSIBLITIES:
This is an embedded software engineering design position focused on new product development working closely with the RF and Digital hardware engineering team.
The primary responsibility will be for new designs in a real time operating environment on embedded hardware in the HFC outside plant.
This role will work closely with the HFC product development team to firm up features and performance / cost trade offs.
Research, evaluate and develop software designs to be used in product and also support the development test environment.
Work in close cooperation with the Hardware engineering design teams and product management team on cost effective, manufacturable solutions for the amplifier and node product platforms.
Work with outside suppliers to identify components able to meet the custom and off the shelf design requirements of the product requirements.
Perform or facilitate testing of the product / system as required to validate the designs and generate data sets for use in internal reviews and customer reviews.
Follow our ATX development process and documentation requirements during the new product development programs as required
Provide schedule estimate inputs as needed for project planning and participate in ongoing program update activities providing as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The team member will possess the following qualifications:

Responsibilities:
Help define code quality guidelines and standards, participate in code reviews and ensure that all solutions are aligned to pre-defined architectural specifications.
Architect, design and build robust micro-service based applications.
Act as subject matter expert and escalation point for the day-to-day operational activities across the landscape of applications utilized by the business
Work closely with product and design to develop compelling cross-platform end-to-end experiences across multiple features and products.
Automate repetitive and complex tasks by developing tools and processes that our team can rely on for daily development, testing, and release management.
Participate in architectural, design and product sessions
Growing the platform to millions of concurrent users through solid architecture choices and design principles.
Leverage automation and git-ops tools for change control, repeatable environments and "infrastructure as code" to provision and manage cloud deployments.
Contribute to high-level strategic decisions with the rest of the Engineering and Executive teams.
Stay on top of industry trends and emerging technologies.
Exemplify excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to deftly tailor technical communications to any audience.

Experience:
4-5 years of relevant experience as a Software Engineer
2+ years experience as a Backend Engineer.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
Expertise with Rust, Node.js (Typescript preferred), Go, Python, Java or Ruby.
Experience in container based (docker/kubernetes) and serverless (lambda, OpenFaaS, etc..) solutions.
2+ years experience working with NOSQL and SQL database systems.
Experience with workflow, message broker and queuing systems (Temporal, RabbitMQ, Kafka, etc)
Demonstrated expertise in developing, releasing, and maintaining large-scale software applications.
