Job Summary
National Pipe & Plastics, one of the largest PVC pipe producers in North America, is currently seeking a Yard Quality Inspector for the shipping and receiving area. There is a $1000 sign-on bonus for this position with the first $500 paid after the first 3 months of continuous employment and another $500 paid after 6 months of continuous employment.
Job Responsibilities
QA load checks for all loads
Conduct visual inspections for legible print line, gasket defects, chamfer, bell, fading, and any other issues of pipe
Confirm all products being shipped with PO is accurate
Confirm correct product makes it on the truck
Confirm packaging is correct safe and secure for each bundle
Number of boards and banding
Number of pieces per bundle
Identify any physical damage to product from yard handling and report through the proper channels
All other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
High School diploma or GED or equivalent Vocational Training/Certification, other related experience or combination thereof
At least 1 year of related experience, preferred
Ability to read and understand equipment manuals and directions
Must communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with superiors, colleagues, and individuals inside and outside the company
Computer literate experienced with Microsoft Office software
Ability to work in the outdoor elements
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.

The person in the role will work under the direction of the Florida Business Unit Manager and is subject to annual performance evaluations. The Inspector will perform technical inspections to enforce compliance with building codes, regulations, and ordinances.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Inspects commercial, industrial and residential buildings during various stages of construction and remodeling to ensure compliance with applicable codes, ordinances, and regulations. Inspections include foundation, concrete, steel, masonry, wood construction, framing, plastering, plumbing, heating and electrical installations and a large variety of other complex and routine building system elements. Depending on specific assignment, inspectors may also issue notices for violation upon failed inspections and may be responsible for approving the issuance of building permits.
Examines plans and specifications of new construction, additions and alterations to residential, commercial and industrial buildings to determine compliance with the provisions of applicable construction codes, ordinances and regulations.
Responds to code related questions from developers, builders, contractors, and/or property owners.
Confers with architects, contractors, builders and the public in the field and office; explain and interpret building requirements and restrictions
Reads, researches, and objectively explains and interprets building code requirements along with other laws pertaining to regulation of buildings, and tactfully communicate, orally and in writing, with staff and/or clients, while maintaining effective relationships
Maintains files and reports regarding inspection and/or plan review activities and findings

Must be able to understand and follow instructions.

About this Role
The Civil Inspector will oversee civil inspection activities for projects located in the West Texas area near Colorado City, Lamesa, and Garden City, TX. This role ensures compliance with applicable codes, standards, and project specifications while coordinating with clients, contractors, and testing laboratories to ensure quality and safety.
What You'll Do
Conduct inspections on civil works, including formwork, rebar placement, concrete, soil compaction, and other structural elements.
Interpret job-specific standards, ACI Codes, and engineering drawings for accuracy and compliance.
Complete inspection reports in a timely and accurate manner.
Communicate effectively with clients, project teams, and laboratory staff regarding testing and results.
Coordinate with testing laboratories for concrete testing and soil compaction requirements.
Provide feedback and recommendations to ensure project specifications are met.
What You'll Bring
Minimum 5-8 years of civil inspection experience, preferably within industrial or heavy civil projects.
Strong communication skills, particularly when interacting with clients and project stakeholders.
In-depth knowledge of ACI Codes and the ability to apply them to field inspections.
Proficiency in interpreting construction drawings, including dimensions, formwork, rebar sizes, and embedments.
Ability to prepare detailed inspection reports.
Ability to be 100% on-site for the duration of the project (expected to end Dec 2026)
