JOB SUMMARY: The Technology Specialist provides technical support, maintenance, and repair of district technology systems and instructional equipment in a digital learning environment. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
Configure, enroll, assign, inventory, and support student and staff devices, including iPads and computers.

Diagnose and resolve software issues; install, image, update, and maintain operating systems and applications on lab and classroom computers, including PLTW and Business lab images.
Diagnose and repair hardware issues, replacing internal components (hard drives, memory, batteries) and external peripherals (keyboards, mice).
Support and maintain instructional technology, including interactive flat panels, projectors, and audiovisual systems; assist staff with operation and troubleshooting.
Program and manage audiovisual switchers and inputs; replace projector lamps, filters and units as needed.
Maintain and troubleshoot printers and print servers, including toner replacement, jam resolution, network configuration, and queue management.
Provide technical assistance for computers, peripherals, and audiovisual equipment in classrooms, labs, and offices.
Repair equipment in-house or coordinate transport to outside repair facilities.
Perform routine cleaning, diagnostics, and preventive maintenance on district technology equipment.
Order, receive, inventory and stock technology equipment, supplies, and replacement parts.
Unpack, inspect, test, tag and prepare new equipment for deployment.
Maintain accurate records of work orders, repairs, inventory, and equipment histories.
Maintain working knowledge of network operating systems and basic WAN/LAN functionality.
Assist with the installation and deployment of new software, systems, and upgrades.
Engage in professional development to stay current with areas of responsibility.
Complete required training.
OTHER FUNCTIONS
Collaborate with technology colleagues to share best practices and troubleshoot challenges.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Listed below are the essential tasks required for this job.
Job Tasks Descriptions
1. Report at required times and maintain assigned scheduled times with an emphasis on safety.
2. Operate, inspect, and report defects of transportation vehicles in all weather and road conditions.
3. Provide support for students with disabilities, including, but not limited to the proper use of transportation equipment, attend to hygienic needs and behavioral challenges, monitor medical conditions and utilize specialized communication tools.
4. Communicate with district representatives, parents/guardians and community members.
5. Maintain assigned vehicle cleanliness and route guides.
6. Be familiar with, adhere to and enforce all regulations, policies and procedures for school bus operation and student transportation safety and conduct including use of student monitoring technology.
7. Monitor and manage behavior of all riders using management strategies and student discipline while monitoring for suspected child abuse, harassment, bullying and medical conditions.
8. Identify and respond to emergency situations on the bus which may include the administration of standard First Aid, body fluid clean-up and evacuation procedures.
9. Accept responsibility for the safe transportation of students and assure they are all accounted for after each run, route or trip including use of student monitoring technology.
10. Complete and submit mandatory paperwork to the Transportation Director.
11. Provide input to dispatch, routing and supervisors concerning the effectiveness and accuracy of assigned routes in respect to design, student stops, safety issues, time and student information.
12. Maintain professional communication and demeanor with all district employees, students and community members while being responsible for a safe and collaborative environment on the bus and maintaining a positive work environment.
13. Communicate on a two-way radio system in accordance with Federal Communications Commission regulations.
14. Successfully complete all required courses, evaluations, and meetings.
15. Collaborate in the planning of bus evacuation plans and student management techniques on assigned routes.
16. Report any bus accidents immediately, and stay on scene until released by the Transportation Director.
17. Perform other duties as assigned.

Assist students with basic classroom work, including computers, language arts, math and research. Assist classroom teacher with preparing classroom work as needed. Support student in general and special education classroom.

Job Tasks Descriptions
1. Provide support to special education students in the regular and special education classrooms. Supports may include:
assisting students by adapting work,
monitoring and enforcing social and acceptable behavior,
implementing health care plans, toileting assistant, academic support etc.
Assist children in the cafeteria, at recess or any other time help is required, including getting on and off the bus.
Assist in crisis situations often involving physically aggressive students including, but not limited to, restraining and documentation.
If working with behavior students, trained in CPI and understands the rules and regulations pertaining to management of behaviors and protocol safeguards.
Implement specialized therapy programs.
Leaning, bending, reaching, over work space to use proximity and support for a child working.
These supports are defined in student IEPs and are provided under the direct supervision of the case manager/teacher.
2. Assist students with classroom activities. Assist with curriculum instructional delivery to both individual and small groups to ensure mastery of subjects.
3. Assist teacher(s) with grading, attendance and instructional centers, etc. Assist in preparing materials; laminating, copying, filing, etc.
4. Mentor, support and assist students with a variety of abilities and disabilities to become competent, independent adults.
5. Supervise and monitor students during playground, lunchroom, field trips, passing periods, classroom activities, etc. Support eloping students by keeping them within 3-5 feet to ensure the student remains safe. Must be physically able to run with student to keep them in close proximity.
6. Assist injured or sick students to health room.
7. Cover classroom for short periods (i.e. up to 30 minutes) when the teacher is called out of the classroom for staff meetings or other reasons.
8. Assist with assessment testing and monitoring of student performance.
9. Perform other duties as assigned.
