We are an Equal Opportunity Employer and participate in E-Verify. About this Role FiberTel is looking for a Traffic Controller for our Woodland/Sacramento location. The flagger's responsibilities include informing motorists of possible detour routes, reporting disobedient drivers to law enforcement officials, and answering motorists' questions. To be successful as a flagger, you should have excellent communication skills and be able to work effectively as part of a team. Ultimately, a top-notch flagger should demonstrate a sound knowledge of state traffic. Pay: $24-30, DOE What You'll Do Responsibilities: Perform flagging and other traffic control duties as required. Direct traffic flow safely around workers/construction zone. Effective communicate with site workers to provide correct direction to motorists. Record and report vehicle information of disobedient/unsafe drivers as needed. Follow recommended methods and procedures set forth by supervisor for traffic maintenance operations. Place barrels, signs, barricades, traffic cones, etc. as needed. Remain observant of traffic and surroundings at all times. Effectively communicate with co-workers to facilitate traffic movement. What You'll Bring Qualifications: General. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each Key Duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. This position typically is not an entry-level job, as it requires demonstrable previous experience as a Traffic Control Flagger. A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is preferred. o Three (3) or more years experience as a Certified Flagger in the heavy highway industry preferred. Flagger certification required. Must be able to understand work directions and communicate effectively with management and fellow employees. Physical Demands. The following physical demands are representative of those that must be met by a Traffic Control Flagger to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. o Constant physical effort, including standing, is required during a regular work shift of at least eight hours per day. Employee must be able to stand for extended periods of time, and to stoop, bend, and crouch as required to perform Key Duties. Ability to lift and carry, on a frequent basis, at least 50 pounds and, at times, as much as 90 pounds, as may be assigned. Physical dexterity involving stretching, proper placement of legs, and use of arms and hands in repetitive motions. Maintain constant alertness to the multiple concurrent activities of the construction site, including the traffic, activities of other employees and contractors, the operation of stationary equipment, and the movement of mobile equipment. Frequently walk on uneven surfaces, including natural ground in varying weather conditions. Sufficient skill and visual acuity, under varying degrees of light, darkness, and weather conditions, to provide direction and flagging for motorists. Work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions. Work environment periodically exposes the employees to high levels of noise, grease, and dust that are typically associated with a construction project. Employee regularly works near heavy equipment and moving machinery. Work may involve a variety of substances commonly found on construction sites such as form oil, grease, curing compounds, gasoline, diesel fuel and ready mixed concrete. Work Environment. The work environment characteristics described below are representative of those that a Traffic Control Flagger encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Preferred Qualifications: Previous construction experience. Able to perform all duties in telecommunication construction. Ability to travel. What You'll Get Working Conditions: This is a full-time hourly position, expected to work at least 40 hours per week. This position operates in an outdoor environment and is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions including; extreme cold, rain, sleet, snow, humidity, high temperatures, and high wind. The outside work environment will vary throughout the day including changes in terrain, traffic, urban settings, and/or rural settings. This position may occasionally be exposed to natural gas and to the risk of electrical shock. Exposure to moderate to loud noise levels. Physical Requirements: The employee will need to have the ability to stand for long periods of time (up to 12 hours at a time), tolerate work in extreme weather conditions, speak and hear worksite safety instructions, withstand prolonged and repeated: lifting, standing, climbing, kneeling, reaching and feeling, crouching, and crawling. The employee will need to be able to regularly lift 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. For Mid-Level Systems Engineer, a minimum of 6 years of experience in radar signal processing, digital and analog circuits, microprocessors, antenna performance for the primary and secondary radar systems, and possess the ability to use diagnostic tools and software For Senior-Level Systems Engineer, a minimum of 12 years of experience in radar signal processing, digital and analog circuits, microprocessors, antenna performance for the primary and secondary radar systems, and possess the ability to use diagnostic tools and software Knowledge of electronics, radar systems, and troubleshooting is essential, often gained through formal education or specialized technical training. Proficiency with tools such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, power meters and signal generators is crucial for system maintenance. Ability to analyze facility drawings for accuracy and provide red-line changes where appropriate. Knowledge of Microsoft Office tools for documenting and creating high level reports.
