Take an active role in coordinating testing effort for major upgrades and patches. Provides input to the Team Lead, System Analyst on the planning and design of HIS applications. This effort includes software evaluation, project management, process change, application training, dictionary build, application testing, integration testing, data conversion and production support. The Senior System Analyst will also ensure the use of role-based access. Assume responsibility for application-related project efforts by coordinating with IS and other departments as necessary to ensure proper communication and execution. This includes design and architecture definition as appropriate, project planning, change management coordination, vendor integration and coordination, user / department communication / notification, etc. Active participant of Information Service's PMO responsible for ensuring each project is managed following the standard IS methodologies. Additionally, shares in the responsibility for the maintenance of standard project methodologies and procedures. Manages each project following the standard IS methodologies and processes. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested to maintain a high level of service. Completes required continuous training and education, including department specific requirements. Demonstrates professional work behavior by following Service Standards and Success factors. Complies with departmental organizational policies and procedures and adheres to external agency requirements. QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree or equivalent technical training is required. Certification in Inpatient Willow and Beacon required At least 5 years' experience with appropriate clinical or financial HIS applications support is required. Strong, demonstrable experience implementing and supporting HIS applications within a hospital / health system is also required. Experience with Epic applications is strongly preferred. Must have software Module Certification or able to obtain within six (6) months of employment. Excellent analytical, problem solving, written and verbal communications skills. Strong customer service skills. Demonstrates Expertise with healthcare business processes and associated HIS application software necessary to support those processes within an integrated delivery system. Expertise in HIS application migration planning, design and implementation. Complies with USP797 regulatory standards for sterile compounding and USP800 regulatory standards for handling hazardous drugs which includes proper PPE, aseptic technique. deactivating, cleaning, and disinfection of pharmacy areas, and handling hazardous waste. 3.Demonstrates full understanding of all SHS policies concerning hazardous drugs and sterile compounding. 4.Successfully completes semi-annual sterile competencies as required by USP797. 5.Maintains pharmacy environment according to USP, OSHA, ONS, QOPI and Joint Commission standards. 6.Complies with DSDCA inventory requirements utilizing appropriate software daily upon inventory receipt communicating any discrepancies immediately. 7.Maintains knowledge of the 340B Drug Pricing Program and adheres to the program when purchasing or acquiring medications. 8.Serves as a resource to clinical and billing staff regarding drug dispensing and preparation 9.Monitors medication usage, expiration, and pharmaceutical waste. 10.Aseptically prepares chemotherapeutic and non-chemotherapeutic products with accuracy and efficiency and in a manner to ensure minimal delay in patient care 11.Consistently demonstrates specialized knowledge and understanding of the safe handling and disposal of chemotherapy agents as outlined by OSHA, USP 797, USP800, ONS, QOPI and Joint ACHO standards. 12.Maintains a clean, organized sterile compounding suite that complies with the standards of USP797 and USP800 and adheres to internal policies and procedures. 13.Conducts and electronically documents daily quality metrics such as temperature, humidity, air pressure differential, cleaning and disinfection for the sterile compounding suite and alerts pharmacy leadership of any excursions that are not compliant with the established standards. 14.Evaluates appropriate medication pars/needs, ensures inventory is appropriate, and proactively assesses mediation needs in advance. 15.Utilizes DoseEdge Pharmacy Work Flow Manager to prepare sterile products and consistently adheres to proper technique, bar code scanning and other quality metrics to ensure patient safety. 16.Ensures appropriate labeling of all compounded sterile preparations contains accurate Beyond Use Date and other regulatory labeling requirements. 17.Reviews pars of medications and supplies daily and orders from wholesaler, other vendors, or materials management via Oracle ERP to ensure par levels are appropriate and do not delay patient care. Has 18.Proactively follows up on back ordered medications to ensure appropriate inventory to prevent delay in patient treatment 19.Processes bi-weekly invoice in Meditech. Maintains file of past orders. 20.Conducts inventory monitoring to remove expired drugs and supplies from all storage areas including pyxis. 21.Conducts inventory monitoring report to ensure accuracy of quantity-on-hand 22.Prepares emergency response kit. 23.Replenishes pyxis daily for low par or out of stock items ensuring expiration dating and storage conditions are met. 24.May assist in preparation of medications for weekend injections at the Main campus infusion center. 25.Works with Patient Assistance and Billing office as required when receiving patients own supply or drug replacement medications. Qualifications/Requirements: 1.High school graduate or equivalent. 2.Registered Pharmacy Technician in the state of Connecticut 3.Minimum of three (3) years' experience in hospital or infusion therapy setting with sterile compounding experience. 4.National pharmacy technician certification (CPhT) or PTCB preferred upon hire. Must obtain national certification within six (6) months from date of hire.
