The success for Joomla was just another turning point for the team as in 2008, Johan Janssens, the co-founder of Joomla, became the Most Valued Person (MVP).
The success was amazing and it drew the attention of the entire CMS community: in 2008 Johan Janssens (one of the developers) became the Most Valued Person, and a year later the same title was assigned to Louis Landry according to Packt Publishing.
In July 2009, Joomla team announced a reconstructing of its management to boost efficiency and productivity.
In 2011, Joomla v1.6 was released.
Joomla v2.5 was released in early 2012 just six months after v1.7.
Joomla 3.1: released on April 24, 2013, this version offered several new features, including tagging.
Joomla 3.3: released on April 30, 2014, this version featured improved password hashing and microdata.
Joomla 3.4: released on February 24, 2015, this version offered improved security advancements, Google’s No CAPTCHA reCAPTCHA, composer integration, and several new interesting features.
The most recent version of Joomla is v3.6 which was released on October 30, 2018.
