Internship Summary:
The Valerie Friedman Emerging Journalists Internship offers hands-on experience in a dynamic radio newsroom, ideal for students with a passion for audio journalism and in-depth news reporting. Interns will work closely with the CT Public News and Radio team to produce accurate, unbiased, and engaging content. This internship is a unique opportunity for those looking to develop their skills in broadcast writing, audio production, and field reporting.
Interns will learn the fundamentals of writing for broadcast, recording, editing, and mixing audio, and assisting reporters on field assignments. They will also participate in news meetings, contribute to newscasts, and may be involved in advanced tasks like conducting interviews or reporting stories. Interns will gain valuable exposure to daily newsroom operations and contribute to real-world news coverage under tight deadlines.
Interns can expect to work a maximum of 20 hours per week, with flexible scheduling. All internships are paid bi-weekly, and interns are required to complete timecards. Interns must attend a virtual Newcomer's Orientation on their first day.
Internship Responsibilities
Accompany and assist reporters on news assignments.

Job Description
Editing a range of lifestyle and/or fashion & beauty related articles written by writers in the US, Canada, UK and Australia
Updating previously published articles for search engine optimization and/or to stay up to date with current trends
Checking for grammar, spelling and formatting
Writing SEO optimized articles based on the needs of the editorial team
This internship is a great opportunity to develop writing and editing skills, but to also learn about native marketing and social media promotion. Interns will be working in our offices located Fort Point, Boston and will be part of our editorial team. This is an unpaid, in-house position.
Qualifications
Undergraduate student or recent graduate.
English/Writing/Communications/Journalism major preferred but all majors are encouraged to apply.
Must be very interested in lifestyle writing and editing
Creativity, organization and attention to details are a must for this position
Basic knowledge of WordPress and social media platforms

The Daily Beast's Obsessed is seeking a talented, motivated, and dependable Editorial Intern to join our award-winning newsroom on-site in New York. Open to undergraduate juniors and seniors, graduate students and post-grads, the internship program is an exciting opportunity for emerging journalists to learn how a newsroom works while gaining hands-on experience. The roles are full-time (37.5 hours/week) for three-month periods
Ideal candidates are entertainment obsessives who can work quickly, write cleanly and with some flair, and both take initiative and direction. We are currently looking for eager and talented candidates to start in January 2026.
Qualifications
* Experience writing and reporting stories about entertainment and pop culture.
* A voracious news diet with a focus on celebrity, TV, film and Hollywood.
* Prior knowledge of web publishing and using a content management system is a plus.
* Comfort meeting quick deadlines.
