The Tennessean, a part of the USA Today Network, is seeking a dynamic, full-time video journalist to produce high-quality visuals under tight deadlines. Nashville is changing quickly, and the successful candidate will help chronicle the city's evolution by leading the production of a trove of video content to run across all our on- and off-platform channels.
This is a high-octane position that will involve a mix of daily assignments and larger documentary-style projects. We are looking for a creative, self-starter who can help formulate our video strategy and then bring it to fruition.

Requirements:

You will work within the Marketing and Communications office and provide copywriting support for multiple offices, including admissions, development, constituent relations, academic affairs, Office of the President, and student development. Content will focus on generating engagement from our key audience of prospective students, parents, alumni, and donors.
This role will require excellent proofreading and editing skills. In addition, this role will have elements of research needs for identifying and writing stories about our community (alumni, students, faculty) and project management skills for ensuring projects stay on task and meet deadlines. This position will also serve as the editor for the VIEW magazine, the main creative and high-end print publication produced by the Marketing and Communications office. Responsibilities will involve writing, editing, sourcing content, managing production deadlines, and collaborating with the design team on layout.

The EIC will manage a small staff of full and part-time employees that work largely remotely. WKRG-TV News 5, the Nexstar CBS television affiliate in the Mobile/Pensacola DMA, seeks a Multimedia Journalist to join our news team in our Pensacola, FL Bureau to cover Pensacola and other communities in Northwest Florida & South Alabama.
The Multimedia Journalist will produce, report, shoot, write, voice, edit, feed, and present content for all media platforms in a manner that is clear, engaging, and meaningful to news consumers.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Research/gather/analyze information, interviews, and video to produce accurate, complete, in-depth, relevant, and fair news reports for publication (digital & social media) and broadcast
Ensure that all content produced meets company standards for journalistic integrity, timeliness, and production quality
Author strong copy with correct grammar, punctuation, editorial style, and formatting to meet the requirements of each digital, social, and on-air distribution platform
Quickly solidify presence on all key beats and develop strong professional relationships with reliable sources
Daily, pitch & break exclusive, enterprise news stories online, on social media channels, and on-air
Produce/shoot/edit video and audio content of varying lengths/formats to meet the requirements of each digital, social, and on-air distribution platform
Update and maintain online and social media presence to connect and converse with audience and generate story leads and content
Report live online, on social media channels, and on-air
Cooperate and communicate clearly, directly, and regularly with news teammates and other station departments
Serve as an ambassador to the community by representing the station at community events and activities
Produce special projects and other duties as assigned
Required & Preferred Capabilities:

Technical Skills:
Mastery of AP writing style to author digital, social, and on-air content
Confident and capable videographer who is able to gather compelling visuals, strong natural sound, and solid interviews with field video gear to produce visual storytelling
Strong non-linear video editing skills required --- familiarity with Adobe Premiere video editing software preferred
Ability to operate field live transmission unit essential --- TVU experience preferred
Familiarity with ENPS rundown and story management system preferred
Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines and other office equipment
Valid driver's license required for hire. A clean driving record is required and must be maintained to be able to safely & confidently operate company motor vehicles
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
The MMJ must be able to stand, sit, reach, conduct telephone conversations, use electronic mail, write letters and memos, conduct face-to-face discussions with individuals or groups, make decisions without supervision, make decisions that impact the results of co-workers, and work outdoors with various weather conditions and indoors in environmentally controlled conditions.

magazine, the main creative and high-end print publication produced by the Marketing and Communications office. Responsibilities will involve writing, editing, sourcing content, managing production deadlines, and collaborating with the design team on layout.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Writing engaging and clear written content focused on storytelling each aspect of the Covenant story while building meaningful connections, increasing brand awareness, and encouraging prospective families and community members to engage with the brand.
Producing copy for marketing and sales materials, including but not limited to emails, print collateral, digital ads, blog posts, webpages, press releases, and more.
Write and build emails in our CRM for the admissions communication plan.
Editing and proofing additional materials produced by various departments.
Collaborate with the rest of the Marketing team on campaign content.
Coordinate with the copywriting work study on projects for blog posts, story research, print collateral, etc.
Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure content is informative and appealing, and ensure a consistent, integrated brand perception and visual identity.
Provide support on and/or lead other projects as assigned by the Director of Marketing and Communications.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
A bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism, English, or a related field
3-5 years of experience working in related fields
Strong editorial, proofreading, and writing skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines under pressure
Skilled in writing both long-form and short-form copy in various formats, including print material, digital, and website
Knowledge of formatting and styles, including Chicago Manual of Style and AP
PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Prior work with a liberal arts college/university is preferred.
Familiarity with keyword research
Experience with SEO copywriting best practices
Knowledge of social media and content marketing
Experience using Slate CRM or similar CRM platforms

PHYSICAL WORK ENVIRONMENT

Section editors are team players who write, take photos and design pages for a particular area (news, features, opinions, entertainment, and sports) of the Six Mile Post newspaper, while also overseeing a small team of writers and photographers producing work for their assigned section.
Responsibilities
* Coming up with story ideas to bring to required weekly staff meetings for your assigned section and the wjole paper, in general.
* Use an online story assignment software program to write up descriptions of story assignments for writers and photographers assigned to their section.
* Tracking story assignments, motivating and coaching writers and photographers reporting to your section, collecting stories by deadline, copy editing and sending stories back for rewrites/corrections.
* Section editors will be expected to design and layout pages for any printed issues.
* Section editors may, at times, need to complete a story and/or photograph assignment if a volunteer staff member does not meet their deadline.

Required Qualifications
