    JOB TITLE: CIVIL CONSTRUCTION CRAFTSMAN SUPERVISOR: CIVIL CONSTRUCTION FOREMAN/SUPERINTENDENT QUALIFICATIONS: Must be able to perform all duties in a manner that creates a safe environment for all employees. This position is a traveling position that requires all candidates to have reliable transportation and possession of a TWIC card or the ability to obtain one, if necessary for this position. Must have experience with large concrete placements and tank foundations. Must have a minimum 2-3 years of concrete finishing experience. Industrial, construction, or heavy civil experience preferred. Must be able to prepare and set forms for foundations, slabs, and retaining walls. Must be able to place, spread, and level concrete using hand tools, straightedges, and screeds. Must be able to operate finishing tools and equipment (floats, towels, power trowels, edgers and jointers) and be able to apply surface treatments, such as curing compounds, sealers, and hardeners. Must be able to cut rebar, place expansion and control joints as required. Must have knowledge in foundation and framework systems: tank ring walls, grade beams and retaining structures. Must be physically capable and willing to regularly carry 60 to 75 pounds and stand on feet a minimum of 8 hours a day. Must be able to pass a post hire physical verifying ability to perform essential functions of the job, as well as a substance abuse test whenever required by Advance Tank or its customers. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND TASKS: Must be able to perform all duties in a manner that creates a safe environment for all employees. Formwork: Must be capable of assisting the carpenters with unloading, positioning, erecting, stripping, cleaning, oiling and loading forms. Concrete work: Must be capable of achieving smooth uniform finishes and pay strong attention to detail. Must be able to maintain tools and finishing equipment. Reinforcing Steel: Must be capable of assisting rod busters with unloading, positioning, installing, and loading rebar. Surveying and Layout: Must be capable of doing basic foundation layouts using lasers and transits. SCHEDULE: The work is scheduled for Monday through Friday, often ten hours a day. However, often the customer dictates the working hours, so may need to work hours prescribed by the customer. Furthermore, overtime is required in the job. WORK CONDITIONS: This job requires extensive travel within the United States and will require significant time away from home. You will be on your feet all day, which can include kneeling, bending, and standing. Wearing a hard hat, safety glasses, earplugs and suitable work clothing is necessary. The working conditions at each jobsite change from clear and open to congested and tight. You will be working outside in all types of weather. You will be expected to be aligned with the Company Work Ethic Document, which is included in your new hire packet. This is an employment at will position.
