We have two distinct areas to our business and projects - our large projects division and multi-site programs. In large projects we do large open store remodels for the likes of Walmart, Target, Publix and Kroger, typically renovating an entire store across a number of months. On our multi-site program, we do large volume work with may consistent of hundreds of stores in a particular specialism such as upgrading ceiling or floor tile, or fitting pharmacy rooms. This work is again vast and large ranging but includes the likes of Dollar General, CVS and Walgreens. We are also now doing a lot of quick serve restaurant work which could include working with the likes of Starbucks and McDonalds. We are looking for someone who is proactive & a strong problem solver. With our work across 30+ states, you need to be willing to be on the road most of the year, a valid drivers license and access to your own vehicle. Since most of our jobs operate in an open store environment, strong communication skills are an essential part of this role. Job Description: SUMMARY: Plans drywall installations, erects metal framing and furring channels for fastening drywalls, and installs drywall to cover walls, ceilings, soffits, shafts, and movable partitions. RESPONSIBILITIES: Read blueprints and other specifications to determine method of installation, work procedures, and material, tool and work aid requirements. Install horizontal and vertical metal studs for attachment of wallboard on interior walls. Lay out reference lines and points for use in computing location and position of metal framing and furring channels and marks position for erecting metalwork, using chalkline. Measure, mark and cut metal runners, studs, and furring channels to specified size, using tape measure, straightedge and hand and portable power tools. Measure and mark cutting lines on drywall, using square, tape measure, and marking devises. Scribe cutting lines on drywall, using straightedges and utility knife and break board along cut lines. Fit and fasten board into specified position on wall, using screws or adhesive. Cut openings into board for electrical outlets, vents or fixtures, using keyholes saw or other cutting tools. Measure, cut, assemble and install metal framing and decorative trim for windows, doorways and vents. SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must be able to coordinate the movements of eyes, hands, and fingers. The carpenter position requires general construction knowledge that includes concrete formwork systems, such as job-built gang systems, Symons, PERI, and EFCO. These systems are used to form footings, walls, columns, and structural decks. This position requires knowledge and utilization of carpenter tools. The carpenter position will also work with process piping and process equipment installations. Duties and Responsibilities: Set, align and verify the correct placement of forms for footings, walls, columns, and decks Assist with placing and finishing to ensure successful concrete pours Perform layout for various construction activities Maintain company tools and equipment in good working and safe order Work with pipe laborers and operators on underground piping, process piping, and process equipment Lead installation of building components, such as doors, windows, and interior systems Other duties as assigned by management Qualifications and Requirements: Experience in the construction industry as a carpenter or carpenter assistant Experience with pile driving and sheet piling a plus General layout skills and basic math skills required Some blueprint reading may be required Ability to work effectively as part of a team Physical Requirements/Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to do the following: Prolonged periods of standing, climbing, bending, and kneeling.
