ERG is seeking an Electrician with mid- to senior-level experience to provide maintenance and demand services support of all electrical systems that support industrial and manufacturing environments for a Department of Defense (DoD) client. The position is based out of a federal site in Indian Head, Maryland. The ideal candidate must be motivated with the skills to prioritize, perform, and communicate effectively in a fast-paced environment. This position will be full-time at the federal site in Indian Head, MD, and will include interaction and support from ERG personnel at the federal site, as well as from ERG's Chantilly and Arlington offices. Indian Head is approximately 30 miles from Washington, DC, 25 miles from Alexandria, VA, and 60 miles from Fredericksburg, VA. Alternative work schedules may be considered.Job Description:
Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment
Troubleshoot electrical issues and provide solutions
Read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints
Ensure compliance with all building and safety regulations as well as facility policies
Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to install and maintain electrical systems
Conduct preventative maintenance on electrical systems and equipment
Maintain accurate records of activities, including work orders, preventive maintenance schedules, and equipment inventory
Order and maintain inventory of supplies and spare parts
Coordinate with contractors and vendors to perform repairs and maintenance on electrical equipment and systems
Operate and maintain a bucket truck to complete the maintenance of cabling systems
Qualifications and Skills:
High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a vocational or technical school program in electrical technology or related field preferred
Have or be able to obtain a DoD Secret Security Clearance
Minimum of 5 years of professional experience
Journeyman license
Electrical personnel should have expert knowledge in lighting, power distribution, grounding/bonding, and lightning protection system requirements to support an energetic manufacturing environment
Experience in the management of network cabling within an energetic manufacturing environment
Qualified installer of all media of cabling and terminations to support telecommunication systems internal and external to facilities
Familiarity with electrical codes, standards, and regulations
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
This position will require a pre-employment physical exam
This position requires lifting objects weighing up to 50 and up to 100 pounds

Nature of Work: The main purpose of this position is to perform journey level electrical work in accordance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations and standard practices or rules governing the electrical trade. The duties for this position include, but are not limited to, the following: installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical equipment such as ballasts, cable, conduit boxes, conduit tubing, control systems, coils, electronic signage, fans, fluorescent and incandescent units, fuses, generators, high mast light poles, outlets, panels, relays, switches, navigational lights, transformers, wiring and roadway lighting systems, and emergency standby systems. Awkward Posture
: Posture is the position your body is in and its effect on the muscle groups that are involved in the physical activity. Awkward postures include repeated or prolonged reaching, twisting, bending, kneeling, squatting, working overhead with your hands or arms, or holding fixed positions.
Contact Stress
: Pressing the body hard on sharp edges can result in placing too much pressure on nerves, tendons, and blood vessels. For example, using the palm of your hand to hit or stick objects can increase risk of musculoskeletal disorders.
Vibration:
Operating vibrating tools such as sanders, grinders, chippers, routers, drills and other items can lead to nerve damage

Pay is based on experience, skills and education. If position is part-time, salary will be pro-rated based on scheduled hours. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on specialty if applicable. Non-Exempt positions may have shift differential and/or Overtime paid, if applicable.
