Summary of Major Duties & Responsibilities Regularly inspect and evaluate electrical and electronic equipment to ensure that it operates efficiently and safely: identify defects, hazards, or need for repair or adjustment to ensure abidance with codes Diagnose common electrical system failures and provide immediate and long-term corrective action Perform skillful conduit/wire installations, maintenance, repairs and preventive maintenance to a wide variety of electrical systems and equipment in accordance with regulatory codes at the county, state and federal levels Clean and lubricate equipment, and maintain records on equipment status Disassemble, repair and reassemble or replace defective electrical equipment such as plugs, switches, outlets, controls, ballasts, motors and appliances using hand tools, test equipment, and service manuals Test installations to check and ensure continuity of the circuit, and the compatibility and safety of all components using test equipment such as an ohmmeter, amp meter, voltmeter, oscilloscope, or battery buzzer Study blueprints and schematics and determine methods, materials, and equipment needed to complete the assignment; Plan layout to install electrical wiring, fixtures, and equipment depending on the local codes and job specifications Determine materials needed for most frequently occurring repair work, prepare requisitions, and monitor inventory Coordinate work functions with co-workers and other organizational departments. May assist in training lower-level apprentice Electricians and others Maintain records of work completed and parts used Perform duties in a safe manner in compliance with manufacturer's specifications, Dollywood Company policies and procedures, applicable regulations, and industry standards Obtain proper permits as required by law to carry out electrical work on construction or remodeling projects Management reserves the right to change and/or add to these duties at any time. Employees may also be required to travel to various areas on property which may include changes in terrain, stairs and uneven surfaces Repetitive Movements: This position may require performing repetitive movements and tasks throughout the shift, including repeated use of hands, arms or other body parts as part of typical job functions Environmental Conditions: This position requires the ability to perform work tasks in varying weather conditions to include extreme cold and heat. Our Roll-Out/Service Division installs, repairs and maintains commercial electrical systems. What You Will be Doing: Our Service Department is looking for an experienced Commercial Service Electricians to join our team. The Service/Small Project Commercial Electrician will be responsible for servicing and installing electrical systems and equipment. This individual will service, repair, and maintain systems of all types in a customer's facility during scheduled hours and occasional after hours service calls. They will also perform small project electrical installations. The daily duties include but are not limited to: Respond to a customer's electrical needs as directed in a professional manner Understand and implement all OSHA requirements and the company's electric safety policies Accurately enter all necessary data into service management software via mobile tablet to update work orders for tracking, documentation and invoicing Provide any other required reports to management, in a clear, legible and professional manner (Time Sheets, Employee Evaluations, Vehicle Inspections, Etc.) Troubleshoot malfunctioning systems and determine the best course of action for repairs Install all systems in accordance with the NEC and any applicable standards and specifications Properly communicate all issues to customer and to management Requisition the necessary materials, tools, equipment, and manpower necessary to complete the work order Effectively manage resources to best control budgets Manage and care for a service vehicle, tools, material inventory, and equipment that are issued to you Manage, train, and develop any manpower assigned to you Required Skills: Strong commercial electrical background (5 years or more preferred) Strong troubleshooting skills utilizing test equipment Strong knowledge of the National Electric Code Ability to safely operate and maintain a specialized electrical service vehicle (Driver's License required) Able to maintain professional appearance and conduct at all times Able to demonstrate necessary tablet and software skills Ability to manage customer and company specific information and documentation in an organized manner Able to maintain high levels of productivity, meeting deadlines while maintaining accuracy Must be an effective and professional communicator, both written and verbally, filling out daily paperwork correctly Able to be on twenty-four hour call on a rotating basis, as needed Physically able to perform the duties of the position Other Requirements: Ability to pass a MVR screening.
