Scope of Work
Apprentice Electricians will assist skilled electricians and learn on the job. This role provides exposure to underground rough-in, interior wall and above ceiling conduit installation, circuit and feeder pulling, fixture and large gear installation, and troubleshooting. Apprentice Electricians will also complete a daily pre-job safety plan for the work being performed.

What this job involves
The Electrician will oversee the daily operation of the campus electrical power and lighting systems. Qualifications
Education & Experience: We are looking for candidates interested in becoming licensed through our DOL approved Electrical Apprenticeship Program.
Candidates with a certificate or AS degree in electrical technology, electrical construction, instrumentation or similar or equivalent experience preferred.
Location/Travel: This position will require travel in/around Manhattan KS - up to/within a 200-mile radius. Applicants must be permanently located in/around the office location or be willing to permanently relocate. Applicants must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license. Per diem and mileage stipends applicable per company policy.
Work Schedule: Start times, break times and work hours vary per site and stage of our projects. Our employees work more than 40 hours per week but no more than 60, as part of our commitment to safety. Due to the type of construction, weekend work maybe required on occasion.

Torgeson Electric Company is currently seeking skilled Electricians. Electricians install electrical systems in the construction industry at job sites and are knowledgeable in the National Electrical Code and local jurisdictions. Prior electrical installation background is required.

Torgeson Electric Company is currently seeking skilled Electricians. Journeyman electricians install electrical systems in the construction industry at job sites and are knowledgeable in the National Electrical Code and local jurisdictions. Prior electrical installation background is required.
Pay
Based on experience. Qualified Journeyman Electricians starting at $30.00+/hour.
Hours
40 or more per week
Transportation
Travel allowance provided, if required
Lodging
Provided if Required
Req. Experience
Journeyman's License preffered but not required. Competition of an apprenticeship or equivalent work experience (8,000 hours) required.

Paid time off, Paid holidays, 401K option with employer match, ESOP, and Health/Dental insurance. Applicant must be able to pass a pre-employment, (fit to work physical) and drug testing.

Duties & Tasks
Installation of Electrical systems
Direct and train apprentice to Install, maintain, modify and repair all electrical distribution systems and associated electrical equipment
Inspect and test components of electrical systems, including transformers, transfer switches and switch gears.
Ability to interpret prints and able to generate RFI's for projects
OSHA 10 required (reimbursement available upon completion)
Quality Control electrical installation
Ensuring jobsite safety
Fill out daily pre-job safety plan for the work that will be performed
