About the Role:
Construct, install, modify, maintain and repair industrial electrical systems and equipment utilized within buildings, facilities and machinery.
What You Will Do:
Determine the methods and sequence of operations required to locate, install, test, repair and modify industrial electrical systems and equipment by interpreting blueprints, sketches, wiring diagrams and following technical verbal and written instructions.
Diagnose and correct malfunctions of electrical systems and equipment such as main power control panels, circuit breaker and relay panels, transformer banks, main power voltage regulators, frequency converters, motors, and generators to assure conformance to specifications and requirements.
Determine routing of wires and conduits and the location and method of installing such electrical units as switches, outlets, junction boxes, rectifiers, transformers and generators.
Compute wire gauge, power and load limit requirements using charts and handbooks, considering such factors as amperage, load and distance to power supply.
Install, test, troubleshoot and maintain such equipment as electronic controls on spotwelding machines and public address and recording systems, welding generators, panels, having several circuits involving interlocking switches, relays and/or time controls, new safety devices, switchboards, and electrical recording instruments such as potentiometers and pyrometers used on heat treat ovens, ventilation systems and power substations and electrical units in mobile equipment and calibrate such recording instruments.
Test circuits for overload, current amplitude and force on electrodes, using precision measuring devices.
Splice, tap and insulate cables as necessary. Perform all crane/hoist repairs as required.
Perform mechanical operations necessary to dismantle, disassemble, repair and install electrical units. Remove electric motors and associated components/guards for the purpose of bearing replacement or repair.
What You Have:
High school diploma, GED or equivalent
Possess licenses and/or certificates as required by state and local codes and ordinances OR equivalent experience
Minimum of 3 years experience using power tools, other equipment and electronic test equipment to perform electrical troubleshooting, repair and installation
Strong working knowledge of hazards assessment and job safety
Understanding of electrical schematics and blueprints
Ability to follow electrical code manuals to install and repair electrical systems
Experience working in industrial environment
Experience using general repair tools and equipment
Summary Pay Range:
$33.54 - $50.30

What it takes to succeed:

What you get to do:
This role is responsible for general maintenance of all electrical systems and equipment used in the park. You will perform installation of all wiring to code, as directed by the supervisor; troubleshoot systems ranging from 24 to 600 volts AC; adhere to all established safety and environmental regulations and interface with other shops, areas, and customers throughout the park. This position also:
* Performs maintenance, troubleshooting, repair of general lighting and power circuits, as well as repair of many miscellaneous electrical devices used throughout the park
* Installs additional lighting and receptacle circuitry in existing structures, as well as in new additions to the park
* Performs maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of a variety of commercial electrical appliances used in food preparation
* Uses computer to open and close work orders
* Adheres to established safety and environmental regulations
* Uses multi-meters and other testing devices as required
* Assists leadership team members as assigned
* Completes tasks as assigned within required time constraints as directed by the leadership team
* Other duties as assigned
What it takes to succeed:
* Currently have at the time of employment: general electrician license or a C10 Contractor's license
* Minimum four years experience in electrical maintenance and with new electrical construction, primarily in commercial applications
* Participation in a vocational or electrical apprentice program required
* Have and maintain a valid state driver's license; visiting students and military must have valid driver's license from state of residency and able to provide a copy of the DMV report. Must be able to meet requirements to drive SeaWorld vehicles
* Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and any state or local electrical code
* Strong background in commercial wiring
* Understand the workings of motor starters, lighting systems, ballast, HPS, metal halide, neon
* Thorough knowledge of motor control centers
* Proficient in reading single line diagrams and schematic
* Electrical knowledge and troubleshooting skills
* Strong written/verbal communication skills
* Able to organize and plan daily workloads as assigned without direct supervision
* Able to read, write and speak in English; comprehend simple to complex instructions, short correspondence and memos
* Good computer skills
* Strong mathematical skills
* Able to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted.
* Able to walk, sit, stand, stoop, climb, push, pull, bend, squat and regularly use hands to reach, grasp, handle and feel
* Able to work indoors and in outside weather conditions (i.e., direct sunlight, wet and/or humid conditions)
* Able to occasionally perform job at heights of up to 350 feet (Sky Tower), but usually less than 80 feet (camera towers, exhibits stadium catwalks)
* High school diploma or equivalent; or equivalent combination of education and experience

The primary responsibilities of the electrician will be to install and repair wiring, electrical fixtures, apparatus and control equipment by performing the following duties:
* Apply knowledge of all types of electrical conduit so as to measure, cut, bend, tread, assemble and install
* Familiarity with 120/240 single phase, 120/240V delta 3 phase, 120/208V 3 phase, and 277/480V 3 phase systems
* Splice wires and/or terminate wires to lighting, power and control equipment
* Connect power cables to equipment
* Possess a working knowledge of the NEC
* 3-5 years of experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in construction/manufacturing
* 3-5 years of experience working as an electrician.
* Must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions and procedure manuals
* Must be able to work 6:00am - 4:30pm and overtime, as needed.
