Education / Experience

Experience with emergency power generators required.

Must be computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft programs and other computer software.
Read and work from blueprints, shop drawings and sketches.
Data input and operation of Maintenance PM System and E-Req System.
Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Understand and follow oral and written directions.
Ability to work independently with minimal direction
Ability to maintain effective working relationships with public department heads, associates and the public
Skill in identifying and resolving problems under pressure conditions.
Other Requirements
Ability to obtain and maintain a Kalispel Tribal Work Permit.
Requires a 01 license from the state of Washington.
Continuing education classes to maintain Washington State 01 Electrical license.
Electrical Journeyman License or Licensed Commercial Electrician required.
OSHA Certified to work with high voltage required.
Washington or Idaho State Driver's License (Must be in possession while operating a Tribal Vehicle).
Certification is required to operate a forklift.
Available and willing to work any changes in hours deemed necessary for Business Levels.

Working under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor, this role ensures safe, reliable electrical service for academic, residential, and administrative buildings while supporting long-term campus infrastructure planning, construction projects, and compliance with state and federal regulations.

Core Responsibilities
Electrical Systems Installation, Maintenance & Repair | 60%
* Perform journey-level electrical work on campus systems including primary and secondary distribution, building electrical service, lighting systems, motors, pumps, emergency generators, transformers, campus clocks, and low-voltage systems.
* Diagnose and repair electrical malfunctions; perform preventive maintenance on electrical equipment and systems.
* Ensure all work complies with applicable state, county, and federal codes and Whitworth safety standards.

Project Coordination & Contractor Oversight | 15%
* Review construction drawings, electrical plans, and specifications for renovation, repair, or new construction projects.
