As a certified Master Ship Repair Contractor for the U.S. Navy, our skilled professionals have successfully completed hundreds of ship repair and modernization projects for the Navy and Military Sealift Command. We perform maintenance and modernization on all classes of major surface vessels, including CVN, CG, and DDG, as well as amphibious ships such as LHD, LHA, LSD, LPD, and auxiliary ships. Our work spans a full range of Combatant, Hull, Mechanical and Electrical, and Habitability systems, supporting the readiness and mission success of the U.S. Fleet. Position Specifics The Pipefitter is responsible for proper removal, and/or installation of various piping systems. This includes cutting, grinding, and prepping multiple sizes and material types of pipe. The Pipefitter must have the ability to read blueprints, diagrams, and sketches, and have an understanding of the different joint designs IAW with MIL-STD -22D, and basic knowledge of MIL-STD-777F, and NSTP-278. In addition the Pipefitter must be able to obtain a Silver Braze certification, and have a general knowledge of the hazards associated with opening tanks and voids, including the installation of proper blanks and plugs to obtain Gas Free status.
