About this Role
THIS JOB WILL INCLUDE THE STATE OF GA
A Journeyman lineman at Irby Construction Company will be expected to build, maintain, and repair overhead transmission lines using approved standards under direction of the Crew Foreman. Responsible for safe operation of equipment and operations on digger trucks (line trucks) and bucket trucks in order to construct and maintain electrical systems of de-energized overhead transmission lines.
What You'll Do
Has worked in the line industry as an apprentice lineman for at least 4 years
Must be able to conduct a Job Task Safety Analysis (JTSA) as required
Able to string, sag, clip, and dead-end conductor
Setting up an Equipotential Workzone
Ability to ascend and descend poles of all types to change out crossarms, transformers and repair conductors, etc., as well as maintains current knowledge of equipment, and OSHA regulations
Ability to lead crew during on call rotation
Ability to interpret maps, specifications, staking sheets, and complex diagrams.
Ability to maintain records required for time worked and materials
Thorough knowledge of first-aid, safety rules, line materials and tools and their use
Good judgment, safe work methods, and ability to work well with diverse groups of people
Must perform Pole Top Rescue and Bucket Rescue
Assist in training Apprentice Lineman
Ability to lead in Crew Forman's absence
Inspects, maintains company equipment, and trucks in safe working order

Conducts repair. Modernizations and inspections of elevators, and related devices to ensure their effective and efficient operation and conformance to safety regulations and OSHA requirements.
Performs annual tests to ensure the proper operation of safety devices during final inspections
Assists in determining the suitability of present elevator equipment, proposed modifications and new equipment.

Qualifications and Skills
Education and Knowledge:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Certified Elevator Technician degree or Elevator Mechanic License, preferred
Knowledge and skill in the use of hand and electrical tools such as grinders, drill motors and coring machines.
Knowledge and skill in the use of electrical reading and testing equipment, hoisting and rigging equipment, chain tackles, etc.
Environmental Demands:
Physical Requirements- must be able to climb, crawl, stoop, climb ladders, and walk beams. Must be able to lift and carry tools and materials weighing in excess of 50 pounds and be able to raise and carry with assistance items weighing 200 pounds. Must be able to work from high ladders and scaffolding. Must be able to work safely in close proximity to moving and working equipment. Must be available to work on an on-call basis in cases of emergency.
Work Environment- may work in dusty and dirty places such as elevator shafts, and pits or other mechanical spaces where temperatures may exceed 100 and equipment may be oily and greasy.

SUMMARY
Completes inspection of and makes repairs to the mechanical, electrical, brake, transmission and pneumatic systems of the MARTA buses. Performs preventive maintenance on the MARTA buses by routinely maintaining and upgrading bus parts as they deteriorate.
1. Removes defective bus components such as power steering boxes, air conditioning compressors, batteries, transmissions, and differentials; installs new or overhauled parts to the vehicles.
2. Completes visual and auditory inspections using a variety of equipment such as laptop, scan tool, multimeter, pressure gauges, and other testing equipment to perform trouble shooting and diagnosis to mechanical, fuel lubrication, electrical, brake, transmission and pneumatic systems of the MARTA buses.
3. Performs road service when bus has mechanical failure, operating road service truck and performing repairs to the vehicle on sight.
4. Assists and instructs other employees on work methods and procedures in various types of diagnosis and repairs.
5. Assists in retrieving vehicles from accident scenes and adverse weather conditions.
6. Records all information of appropriate repair on inspection forms.
7. Uses steam cleaning equipment to clean engines, transmissions and other components as needed in performing repairs to buses.
8. Performs other related duties as assigned.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must have a current, valid Class C license. Individuals hired must obtain a valid State of Georgia issued Commercial Driver Learner's (CDL), Permit (Class A or B), with a passing “P” endorsement within 30 days, and must obtain a valid State of Georgia issued Commercial Driver's License (Class A or B), with a Passenger endorsement within three (3) weeks of obtaining their Commercial Driver Learner's (CDL), Permit (Class A or B) with a passing “P” endorsement.
A minimum of two years driving experience. A maximum of one (1) moving violation, with a maximum of three (3) points on Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) within a 24-month period. No DUI violations allowed.
ASE Certifications desired.
