Your Role on the Team Install, modify, test, repair, troubleshoot, and maintain medium and high voltage electrical systems and associated equipment to include; transformers, cables, switches, circuit breakers, mechanical and electronic recording instruments, mechanical and electronic control systems, and other circuit elements found in substations and/or power-generating facilities.
Install, modify, connect, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair overhead and underground electrical distribution lines.
Perform service on underground lines, substations, transformers, insulators, capacitor equipment, lightning arresters, switches, fuses, ground connects, and similar equipment.
Prepare estimates, and plan and manage own projects within allotted budgets.
Also plan the sequence of work and determine the nature of maintenance or repair needed.
Determine the effects that alterations will have on the total system and for insuring that lines and equipment function properly.
Responsible for providing technical assistance to lower grade workers.

Maintenance: Combine electronic, mechanical, computer, and control skills to perform scheduled, predictive, and preventive maintenance to detect and prevent problems. Install, repair, adjust, and test equipment and components to ensure that systems function properly. Responsibilities
Install, modify, test, repair, troubleshoot, and maintain medium and high voltage electrical systems and associated equipment to include; transformers, cables, switches, circuit breakers, mechanical and electronic recording instruments, mechanical and electronic control systems, and other circuit elements found in substations and/or power-generating facilities. Install, modify, connect, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair overhead and underground electrical distribution lines. Perform service on underground lines, substations, transformers, insulators, capacitor equipment, lightning arresters, switches, fuses, ground connects, and similar equipment. Prepare estimates, and plan and manage own projects within allotted budgets. Also plan the sequence of work and determine the nature of maintenance or repair needed. Determine the effects that alterations will have on the total system and for insuring that lines and equipment function properly. Responsible for providing technical assistance to lower grade workers.
Qualifications
Required:
* 1. Journeyman Electrician.
* 2. Minimum of five years' experience performing skilled high voltage work
* 3. Knowledge of technical practices in order to plan, layout, and complete maintenance or repair needed for high voltage equipment and lines.
* 4. Knowledge of high voltage electrical equipment and distribution lines such as transformers, switches, circuit breakers, recording instruments, control systems, series and parallel, circuits, line loading, line losses.
* 5. Knowledge of electrical and electronic theory and instruments used in shop and trade practices.
