Responsibilities
MAJOR FUNCTION: Installs, maintains, and repairs all transmission and distribution electrical systems and associated equipment.
This is an 18th month training position open to Journeyman Lineman candidates only. All Journeyman Linemen without prior Journeyman Lineman Transmission experience will enter the department as a Journeyman Lineman Transmission Trainee.
Employees will be provided eighteen (18) months of transmission specific on the job training to develop proficiencies in the Journeyman Lineman Transmission job duties. Must be NCCCO crane certified (or industry equivalent certification). Must have a valid card or be registered to complete the class within one year of acceptance into the job classification.
Employees will be expected to satisfactorily complete the transmission lineman training workbook and obtain signatures from Line Working Foreman Transmission, General Foreman PD - Transmission and Manager. The employee must also pass a verbal and practical test administered by the Transmission Lineman Subcommittee. The employee will then be awarded a Journeyman Lineman Transmission position and rate of pay.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions: Performing General Physical Activities -- Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials up to 50 pounds. Must be willing to work in an outdoor environment year-round.

**Summary of Position:**
The Electrician is responsible for the electrical portion of our solar installations on projects that include residential and commercial-scale grid-connected photovoltaic systems. The Electrician will plan and install conduit and wire for DC and AC wire runs, install and wire inverter systems and energy monitoring equipment. They will work with permitting offices and electrical inspectors and will be responsible for completing electrical work in a Code-compliant manner. They will work along with solar installers and system designers as a member of our solar installation team.
**Principal Duties and Responsibilities**
**Perform electrical work (95% of Time):**
* Performs code-compliant electrical work in the field for solar power system installations and service
* Participates as a team member on solar installations and communicates respectfully and clearly with all team members.
* Understands and follows safety procedures and regulations at all project sites
* Works directly with customers as needed, often at the time of installation
* Constructs top-quality solar installations including racking, wiring and paneling
* Performs service calls, including system diagnosis and repair
**Professional Development: (5% of time, approximately 2 weeks/year)**
* Completes training as needed to meet Electrician continuing education requirements.
* Completes renewable energy-specific training and workshops.
**Qualifications/Experience:**
* Ability to work on roofs, in attics, and tight spaces
* Ability to work in all weather conditions - heat and cold
* Ability to lift equipment up to 75 pounds
* Valid driver's license
* Prior electrical experience
* Experience and/or training in solar

**Education/Training:**
* Valid WY Journeyman or Master Electrician License
**Competencies:**
Electricians will receive relevant on-the-job training to become a skilled solar electrician. Creative Energies supports electricians as they move through the career path of apprentice to Journeyman Electrician and Master Electrician.
**Travel and Work schedule:**
Creative Energies installs solar Monday-Thursday between 7am-5pm, and our Electricians work 4 10-hour shifts. Time spent traveling to project sites or to other Creative Energies office locations is paid time. Hours worked in excess of 40 per week are compensated at time-and-a-half.
Project work will occur throughout the Lander, WY and greater Wyoming area, including some remote and rugged locations. A considerable amount of time is spent traveling to and from various project locations.
Work schedule is dependent on volume of work and seasonally variable given weather limitations.
**Reports to/Supervises:**
The Electrician is supervised by and reports directly to the Installation Coordinator but takes direction and follows instructions from Lead Electrician while on the job to ensure safety, installation accuracy and project documentation. Electricians interact closely with Install team members, customers and Sales team when needed.
