based at our Utica, OH Service Center. This is a full-time, non-exempt, highly technical position responsible for performing diversified work of erection and repair of distribution and transmission lines of varying classes and voltages, including substations, energized lines, and on structures and equipment involved in the distribution and transmission of electricity.
Nature and Scope of Position (Essential Duties and Responsibilities):
Support and incorporate the Cooperative's Mission, Vision and Values in professional behavior and decisions.
Comply with all Cooperative policies, procedures, goals and objectives and meet attendance and punctuality guidelines.
Understand, observe and enforce cooperative safety and security procedures and report potentially unsafe conditions to department supervisor and/or safety department personnel.
Install, retire and maintain overhead and underground lines of varying types, both energized and de-energized. Train for, maintain and operate equipment and tooling for line construction and maintenance.
Operate distribution and transmission system devices. Locate and repair faulted underground cables, both primary and secondary.
Patrol and maintain overhead and underground electric distribution and transmission system lines.
Work with warehouse personnel to ensure warehouse and pole yard are efficiently organized and maintained. Assists to ensure building and ground maintenance of the electric service center is completed. Assist Cooperative personnel to ensure appropriate inventory levels are maintained.
Install, maintenance and retire street lights and related equipment.
Complete scheduled tool and truck inspections. Complete scheduled exchanges of rubber gloves, sleeves and cover-up materials.
Perform scheduled on-call duty assignments including working after regular working hours and on Saturdays, Sundays, and company-observed holidays. Respond quickly to all outage calls and emergency situations. Respond to un-scheduled outage work as assigned or as called in to work as the need develops.
Maintain a positive internal relationship with all levels of Cooperative personnel including upper management. Maintain a positive and helpful external relationship with members, developers, contractors and the general public in reference to maintenance and construction of the electrical system.
Perform other related work in addition to other duties as may be assigned.

Provide daily project status updates and communication to the Project Management team.

Communicate with vendors, engineers, owners, service managers, and other contractors to ensure jobs are completed within scope and on budget.
Perform layout, plan, and execute small jobs while leading a small crew.

Sets and connects transformers and other electrical distribution equipment.
Climbs pole's and makes necessary repairs.
Trim trees along electrical lines and perform related work as required.
Performs related work as required.
Responds to work orders for utility disconnections, reconnections, new orders, and other public works service.
Maintains are assigned tools and equipment.
You must stand on-call after working hours as needed and directed.
Class A Lineman is responsible for ensuring safety standards for himself and his crew and is responsible for his/her own safety at all times.
Safety should be the number one priority of any apprentice lineman.
It is the apprentice lineman's responsibility to report and all accidents/incidents to the foreman immediately and to make the foreman aware of any known potential safety hazards that may exist.
Other duties as assigned.
Success Factors:
Must possess math skills along with basic knowledge of PMP and Electrical Theory.
Must be able to work outdoors in diverse terrain and in all weather conditions.
Physical capabilities required to safely operate a motor vehicle, in all driving conditions
Possesses sight, strength and coordination necessary to safely and effectively operate heavy and light equipment and tools.

Duties entail full-body exertion, strenuous lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling. required to stand, walk; and use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus.
Experience and Education:
Four (4) years of experience or equivalent hours.
Additional Requirements/Licenses/Certifications:
Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid State of Residence Driver License is required
Must have a Valid Class A CDL and current medical examiner card
Candidates must pass criminal and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) background checks and pass a pre-employment drug screen.
Must be able to work outdoors in diverse terrain and in all weather conditions.
Must complete OSHA 10hr Safety Training Program within 60 days.
Completion of formal training program or at least four years of verifiable experience including three years of energized work
Successful test completions on rigging, grounding, transformers, hot sticks, weights, and torques.
Successful completion of appropriate knowledge and skills examinations.
Compliance with Safety Performance Standards
May be Employee Performance Tested to a higher level with testing and verifiable experience
Possesses sight, strength and coordination necessary to safely and effectively operate heavy and light equipment and tools. .
Completion of Insulate/Isolate Course Critical review and recommendations from Operations, Safety/Training
Must have ability for frequent travel on needed training requirements and potential for overtime including storm work.

Job Description
The Journeyman should be a outside linemen, inside wiremen, installer technician, electrician, or Master Electrician who has been engaged at the trade for at least five (5) years.
The Journeyman will be responsible for performing journey-level electrical duties in the diagnosis, maintenance and repair of electrical equipment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Lighting PMs
Battery PMs
Rack moves, deployments, and decommissioning
Security gate repair
Inverter testing on battery backups for lights
Team scheduling and material requisition
Receptacle panel installations and retrofits
MTS board validations, actuation, and installation
Electrical Panel Schedules
Spill Prevention kits for Generators, Substations, etc.
Heat trace annual testing and installation/retrofits
Electrical project support
Willpower issues (Nonscheduled, high priority work); Usually DC floor related issues related to cooling
Qualifications
EDUCATION OR EQUIVALENT EXPERIENCE
At least five (5) years of experience in the trade
Unlimited Electrical or Contractor's license (required)
Formal training in approved vocational schools in the fundamentals of the trade
