Exponential Power is a leader in the DC sales and service industry. We are currently looking for industrial installation apprentices to cover installation projects in the Gulf south region. Industrial Apprentices are responsible for the installation of equipment such as batteries, rectifiers and associated equipment used in the Utility and Telecommunications networks. The work will involve the installation of batteries, rectifiers, BDFBs, alarms and cabling, equipment in cell sites and utility facilities. AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY Technician will be responsible for assisting a Lead Installation Technician to ensure that an installation project is completed Safely, on-time and within QA expectations. An apprentice is a required as a second man in the majority of our installations for safety reasons. A successful candidate will be one that takes his personal and the safety of others very seriously. Technician will assist a Lead (making a team) that installs large Commercial and Industrial Batteries. This is done by removing the old rack and battery, properly packaging and transporting from the site, and then installing the new rack and battery system in the customer's site. ATTENDANCE, RELIABILITY AND PROFESSIONAL ETHICS Safety is #1 Punctuality and attendance that is reliable is mandatory. Detail oriented Ensures proper attendance, follow-up and ensures that work projects are not left undone when absent. Abides by all Exponential Power policies and procedures. MINIMUM REQUIREMENT EDUCATION High school diploma or GED, technical degree preferred. EXPERIENCE Past work experience in DC power for the cellular or utility industry a plus. Mechanical ability based on past work history. SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE Computer Skills: Microsoft Office, Excel, ServiceMax Ability to work on ladders up to 15ft., demonstrated manual dexterity, and lift and carry loads up to 60 lbs.

Duties and Responsibilities is fully remote in that you must be able to travel 100% of the time to the job site. Must be fully qualified and capable of working directly with project management to understand and evaluate scheduled electrical work needed to complete projects in a timely manner. Must be capable of performing all duties associated with the crew lead position and in addition. Must be able to self-prepare for all scopes of electrical work needed by evaluating pictures from site assessment and communicating directly with the project management and design team about any necessary changes or improvements to the electrical plan set. These changes must be documented and sent to the project management team. Must maintain tools and materials needed to “adapt and overcome” any challenges in the field including utility shutdowns. Must be capable of communicating at a high level with city inspectors. Must maintain a 90% or higher pass rate on all electrical equipment wall installations and maintain less than 10% of service calls generated by installation-related quality issues. Must be capable of cross-training and crew development when assigned to supervise and support solar installation crews, allowing roof crew leads to self-perform installations while maintaining consistent quality by performing and documenting (pictures) quality control checks at specific points during the installation process. Must be capable of supervising the crew while the electrical apprentice ( roof lead or other designated person by management) gets to experience electrical wall installation and service upgrades. Must have required personal tools of the trade, see “minimum required personal tools of the trade”. During the first 90 days you will be required to learn how to install Tesla Powerwall coupled with Enphase solar systems. We will be looking to you to run your own crew with a helper installing power walls and solar systems. By the end of the 90 days, you will be required to take a proficiency test. This test will include you installing a complete battery and solar system without the help of the lead electrician at Good Faith Energy. You must pass this test to be a lead electrician for Good Faith Energy. We will provide you with all the on-the-job training as well as classroom materials to advance your knowledge of the systems you will be installing. Attends all meetings and conference calls. Function as a Foreman for Bergelectric Corp.; monitoring installations and ensuring work is performed according to Bergelectric Corp. standards and project specifications. Work cooperatively with the general contractor and/or customer in managing the project, project schedule and employees. Responsible for maintaining productivity, safety, quality control, labor cost, scheduling, movement of manpower, procurement of materials and any other activities impacting the successful completion of the project. Responsibilities Achieve Bergelectric Corp. productivity objectives by effectively managing and assigning tasks to crew members, while maintaining an accurate labor tracking log. Establish project goals and monitor success in reaching those objectives on an ongoing basis. Manage purchase orders and ensure ordered materials are received while adhering to bulk buy material procedures. Adhere to project contract document changes and Bergelectric Corp. change. order notice-to-proceed policies. Fully utilize a prefabrication facility and company-wide installation methods and policies. Ensure the proper safety equipment, materials and tools are onsite to perform the required work. Provident Superintendent(s) with sufficient notice of any crew changes. Utilize a proactive approach to anticipate and resolve potential issues. Ensure crew members start and finish work shift on time; Maintain proper meal/break times as per Employee Handbook and as legally required per local labor laws and regulations. Conduct effective performance evaluations of crew members. Maintain complete and accurate “as-builts” as per Bergelectric Corp. procedures and project requirements. Communicate effectively with a wide range of individuals including project owners, architects, general contractors, management, crew members, etc. Ensure all work performed meets with NEC, federal, state, county, local codes and contract documents. Adhere to all Bergelectric Corp., state and federal safety policies and procedures. Provide leadership in fostering a teamwork environment in all aspects of job responsibilities. Qualifications A minimum of two to four years of field experience working as a Journeyman Electrician. Must hold a current Journeyman Wireman license (if required by the applicable state, city or county). Demonstrated ability to effectively order and track materials, perform cost projections and develop “as builts”. Strong, first-hand knowledge and experience related to scheduling, material lead times, product knowledge and installation durations. Solid understanding of the electrical codes and installation methods. Well-versed in the installation of power systems: lighting, fire protection, security and data networks. Knowledgeable regarding the build, installation and maintenance of control panels Comfortable utilizing Electrical Single Line blueprints. Experience in verifying the compliance and functionality of installations. Knowledgeable in the identification and repair of faults in electrical apparatus and circuits. Physical Demands Lift 50 lbs. from the ground and pull 50 lbs. of force. Perform ladder climbing, wire pulling and conduit pulling. Fully squat, stoop or kneel while wearing a 25 lbs. tool belt. Maintain a standing position for long periods of time while performing repetitive actions such as grasping or manipulating wires. Work off of ladders, man lifts or reach booms. Responsible for the scheduling of repair, maintenance, and installation of power lines both above and underground and the installation of transformers and meters. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Demonstrate mastery and continue duties of Apprentice 1, 2, 3, and 4. Safely construct, replace, repair, and perform maintenance of electric distribution lines, structures, and equipment. Investigate trouble on lines and locate cause of power outages. Install, repair, and perform maintenance of underground cables. Install meter and transformer pads. Install and disconnect meters. Install and maintain security lighting. Assist in digging and tamping pole holes; load, unload, set and remove poles. Conduct line patrol activities and report maintenance needs, as necessary. Must be able to operate vehicles and heavy equipment including line trucks, boom trucks, underground trenchers, and digger trucks, and other associated equipment in a safe and proficient manner. Set up and remove barricades, flags, and signs for traffic control and work zone protection in compliance with safety procedures at all job sites. Operate and maintain transportation equipment, tools, and working equipment is in proper condition, and reports deficiencies or repairs needed.
