Essential Functions: Repairs and maintains major cable system and structures such as broken lashing, replacing or re-sagging aerial strand, pole transfers, down-guys, aerial to underground conversion, substructure repairs and cable replacements related to system outages, maintenance, rebuilds and emergencies or hazards.
Reads and interprets work orders, specifications, engineering drawings and/or cut sheets to determine work to be done in sequence of task.
Performs construction work such as digging holes, climbing telephone poles, placing and removing poles and anchors, pulling and stringing wire/cable from pole to pole, laying cable and conduit in the ground.
Operates power equipment such as compressors, pumps, blowers, hydraulic diggers, and hydraulic aerial lifts mounted on trucks.
Uses test equipment to check for gas in manholes; may be required to empty water and other debris from manholes.
Dismantles, moves, and removes aerial, underground or building wire, cable associated equipment and hardware.
Connects wires and cables to terminals and attaches/detaches various kinds of hardware to wires, cables, buildings, or poles.
Responds to and participates in emergency and outage situations that require heavy construction capabilities.
Ensures that all work considers the safety of the customer and general public and compliance with all governmental orders.
Able and willing to work outdoors and in inclement weather conditions.
Complete daily production reports and As-Built documentation on prints.
Qualifications / Experience:
Valid Class A CDL preferred.
Extensive knowledge of approved practices, procedures, tools, and materials used in telecom line construction work.
Identify differences in wire and cable colors.
Required to lift moderately heavy equipment, such as telephone line; climb structures; and stand for long periods of time.
Knowledge of first aid procedures and CPR.
Ability to apply mathematic calculations (Example: fractions for use in drilling and pole sizing; calculating material and hardware length for assembling several pieces of equipment to poles of different thickness and circumferences.)
Ability to work in a confined space and at high elevations (poles, hydraulic lift buckets, ladders.
Ability to apply logical principles and thinking to solve problems and make decisions.
Willing to perform work to support the values and goals of the Company.
Physical demands:
Climb up and down poles, ladders, machinery, and other objects.
Push, pull, reach, and carry objects such as tools, materials and equipment weighing up to 75 lbs.
Load and unload tools and equipment on truck.
Coordinate movement of eyes, hands, fingers, and feet.
Vision including depth perception, close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus.
All work is performed at remote locations; driving and sitting are required.
All work is outdoors, subject to inclement weather conditions.

The Paint Tech must follow and maintain safety practices to ensure that self and other team members are working in a safe environment to prevent injuries. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Under administrative direction and general supervision for the following major tasks:
Assists in supervising and managing shift and training of operators and utilities.
Serves as acting Supervisor when Supervisor is absent
Assists in coordinating work flow throughout department
Adjusts, PMs, and monitors machines to assure product control
Coordinates and advises product and production problems and changes with peers on other shifts
Provides technical expertise and collaborates with other departments as necessary to assure quality, productivity, and inspection procedures meet with department and shift needs
Participates in company programs such as communications, job training, etc.
Complies with all applicable rules and regulations of the company
Sets, troubleshoots, and adjusts all paint and secondary equipment.
Complete all applicable reports
Completes process set-up verifications and changes to insure that product meets design intent and customer specifications
Insures that all daily process checks are completed accurately
Uses a variety of tools to perform machine set-up and troubleshooting including mixing paint, pad-a-print, hot stamp.
SPC charting of color and gloss reading from paint samples or molded parts.
Repair and rebuild paint guns and paint racks as needed
Measures and complies with environmental health and safety system
Monitors housekeeping and maintains good housekeeping
Performs other duties as required or directed
Ensures communcaiton of any changes to process is documented on OIS and training is complete.
Functions as utility for the paint line.
Complete Paint Tech Level 1 training within 7 days of starting the job.
Complete Paint Tech Level 2 training within 90 days of starting the job.
Complete Paint Tech Level 3 training within 180 days of starting the job.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
One year work-related experience, and successful completion of all related training courses or be willing to enroll in next available class.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Possesses the ability to gather and analyze information and make decisions from a limited number of choices.
A minimum score of 50 on the Wonderlic Select Assessment (Traditional Score of 16 on the Cognitive portion).

YOUR IMPACT
As a High Voltage Electrician - Lineman, you keep the lights on and the power running as you repair, maintain, and install electric systems, components, and equipment. You service overhead and underground parts while closely following safety regulations and adhering to quality standards. Collaborating with project managers and tradespeople, you strive to get the job done on time and within budget.
Your responsibilities include inspecting systems, diagnosing problems, and documenting the job. You use various tools to splice, terminate, and test cables and equipment as well as service electric substations and other components. Your efforts make a massive impact on clients and our company!
REQUIREMENTS
Journeymanlineman and high-voltage certification
4+ years of experience as a high voltage electrician, including apprenticeship
Strong understanding of electrical principles and safety procedures
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
Ability to move heavy objects, be in all kinds of weather conditions, and work from heights or confined spaces
Ability to work independently and with a team
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
High school degree or equivalent
Valid driver's license
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Michiganjourneyman license
Experience working with overhead and underground lines, substations, and related equipment

Job Description
Bekum's Apprenticeship program offers a comprehensive opportunity for individuals seeking a career in machining. This program combines on-the-job training with specialized courses at Lansing Community College, fully sponsored by Bekum.
As a Machining Apprentice, you will:
Complete 8,000 hours of rigorous training to develop expertise in machining techniques and processes
Learn to operate and maintain various machining equipment, including CNC machines
Develop problem-solving skills to address complex machining challenges
Collaborate with a team of experienced professionals and fellow apprentices to enhance your skills and knowledge
Work towards obtaining a Journeyman's certificate from the US Department of Labor upon successful completion of the program
Have the opportunity to pursue an Associate's Degree to further your education and career prospects
Specialization options include Electrical Systems, CNC Machining, Welding, Mechatronics, and Machine Building. The chosen specialization will determine the focus of your apprenticeship training.
Qualifications
Candidate Requirements:
The ideal candidate for the Machining Apprentice position will be a high school senior graduating in 2026. It is imperative that the applicant possesses the physical and mental capabilities necessary to perform the work of the selected skilled trade. A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required for this role.
