    Journeyman Lineman / Inspector Term: 6 - 8 weeks DM&G Construction & Engineering is looking for a Journeyman Lineman/Inspector with experience constructing, maintaining, and repairing electrical power lines, both overhead and underground, including tasks like climbing poles, splicing cables, setting transformers, troubleshooting outages, working on energized lines. Typically, this requires completion of a formal apprenticeship program to reach this level of expertise; essentially, the candidate must be a fully qualified electrical worker who has performed all aspects of electrical line work across various environments and weather conditions. For this 6-8 week engagement, it is to perform electrical audits and inspection of overhead distribution and transmission lines in remote high fire areas to confirm proper construction of fire mitigation improvements such as covered conductors, hoods, insulators, spacers, etc. - No line work, climbing or splicing required. Responsibilities No line work, climbing or splicing required. Safety procedures - Adhering to strict safety protocols including wearing proper protective gear and boots. Documentation - Maintaining accurate records of work performed, including taking pictures, inspecting, identification of materials used, filling out audit reports and the ability to remotely send audit information daily. Work Environment Primarily outdoors, exposed to various weather conditions. Reliable transportation required, will be paid mileage for approved travel. Required Certification, Skills & Qualifications Must have journeyman lineman certification. Apprenticeship completion - Must have successfully completed a recognized electrical lineman apprenticeship program. Physical ability - Excellent physical fitness to walk electric pole lines in remote areas and audit work performed to document it was done as prescribed in the work order and to the standards required for a high fire areas. Must be able to walk all day in rough, uneven ground, up and down hillsides as required. Technical knowledge - Comprehensive understanding of power line construction, power line equipment, proper clearances from trees or other wires and safety procedures. Problem-solving skills - Ability to analyze work orders, identify construction issues, and document effectively. Teamwork - Collaborate with other linemen or crew members to support the audit.
