Responsibilities
**Job Summary**
**THIS IS A TRAVELING CREW POSITION.**
The OHE Lineman B assists the Journeyman Lineman and the Foreman while in training and learning the trade. Responsible for performing work related to the construction and maintain of poles, power lines, auxiliary facilities and equipment for the transmission and distribution of electricity. Sets a good example for newer apprentices by always following and teaching safe practices. This position supports and learns from the Lineman team and works with other personnel from the department.
Construct, maintain, and inspect transmission and distribution of electrical or power lines.
+ Provide technical skills needed for the operation and maintenance of reliable electrical services for the consumer, completing jobs with quality and timeliness.
+ Provide for connecting and disconnecting, installing and removal, moving and transferring of various electrical devices on customer facilities, e.g., transformers, transformer banks, regulators, switches, switching devices, capacitor banks, etc.
+ Route or re-route power lines over, under, or around existing lines and structures.
+ Inspect and/or remove power lines that are damaged.
+ Assist in carrying poles, digging holes, and other operations involved in setting or replacing poles.
+ Perform line switching or sectionalizing, as directed.
+ Provide backup for Class A Apprentice Lineman and assist in completion of duties.
+ Responsible for timely submission of all Apprentice Program required documentation.
+ May troubleshoot electrical problems on customer equipment.
+ Drive bucket truck to jobsite and maintain truck stock.
+ Investigate consumer complaints and make repairs to energized electrical distribution lines, as needed.

As an Electrician with our team, you will:
Responsible for managing the Frequency Modulation Load Management System (FM-LMS) user interface, including scheduling, alarm handling, trending, overrides, report generation, and any demand limiting programming changes as directed by the Government.
Responsible for developing and providing the required FM-LMS training to Fort Hood Family Housing and DPW HVAC technicians/mechanics. Provide copy of the training outline and all material to the Government for approval NLT January 15 annually.

Perform performance testing to verify DCU operation using the FM-LMS testing equipment and result documentation submitted for review by the COR. Testing shall follow the FM-LMS testing procedures located in Version 10 for the DCU Model SA 20 user manual.

Complete an electronic frequency line sweep to specification and calibrate RF power amp output to specification and ensure proper operation of all communication equipment and medium via periodical system testing and reporting such tests to the Government for review.
Responsible for maintaining the Government provided LMS software/hardware as recommended by the manufacturer and maintaining the Government provided initial list of installed equipment and location. Tracking any additions and/or modifications to this equipment list will be the requirement of the FM-LMS Manager.
Coordinate with Government/TSR's the building schedules and Alternate Operating Schedule Request to eliminate scheduling conflicts.
Perform the inspection and functional testing of the Digital Control Units (DCUs) in the field using Government provided test equipment. A representative sample of 25% of the approximately 4,900 DCUs will to be tested each year.
Attend monthly meeting with the Government SME (held between the months of February through September, annually) with the purpose to provide operational status of the system; update of any upcoming or previous pending actions to include an update of the system's inventory, and an estimated cost savings profile (current and future for that particular fiscal year).
Cause to install new DCUs as defined by the Government via the Service Order (SO) procedure. Upon installation, properly programmed into the FM-LMS system, and test onsite and remotely through the FM-LMS system. A completion report shall be provided to the COR, as defined by the SO process for closure.
Provide support for any additional duties there assigned by the Project Manager in support of the contract as needed
Required Qualifications:
The ability to obtain and maintain required government security clearance required. (This involves a background/character, criminal history, employment, and credit check.)

Experience or familiarity working with modulation / load modulation systems (LMS)
