An Electrical Craft Helper assists a skilled journey-level worker engaged in one of the electrical trades. Typical assignments involve the maintenance and construction of electrical systems for buildings and facilities; installation and maintenance of overhead or underground power distribution systems; or shop repair activities. Apprentice training opportunities leading to craft positions are available in some departments.
* Six months of full-time paid experience as a helper in an electrical trade; or

Your Role on the Team Install, modify, test, repair, troubleshoot, and maintain medium and high voltage electrical systems and associated equipment to include; transformers, cables, switches, circuit breakers, mechanical and electronic recording instruments, mechanical and electronic control systems, and other circuit elements found in substations and/or power-generating facilities.
Install, modify, connect, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair overhead and underground electrical distribution lines.
Perform service on underground lines, substations, transformers, insulators, capacitor equipment, lightning arresters, switches, fuses, ground connects, and similar equipment.
Prepare estimates, and plan and manage own projects within allotted budgets.
Also plan the sequence of work and determine the nature of maintenance or repair needed.
Determine the effects that alterations will have on the total system and for insuring that lines and equipment function properly.
