Exponential Power is a leader in the DC sales and service industry. We are currently looking for industrial installation apprentices to cover installation projects in the Gulf south region. Industrial Apprentices are responsible for the installation of equipment such as batteries, rectifiers and associated equipment used in the Utility and Telecommunications networks. The work will involve the installation of batteries, rectifiers, BDFBs, alarms and cabling, equipment in cell sites and utility facilities. AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY Technician will be responsible for assisting a Lead Installation Technician to ensure that an installation project is completed Safely, on-time and within QA expectations. An apprentice is a required as a second man in the majority of our installations for safety reasons. A successful candidate will be one that takes his personal and the safety of others very seriously. Technician will assist a Lead (making a team) that installs large Commercial and Industrial Batteries. This is done by removing the old rack and battery, properly packaging and transporting from the site, and then installing the new rack and battery system in the customer's site. ATTENDANCE, RELIABILITY AND PROFESSIONAL ETHICS Safety is #1 Punctuality and attendance that is reliable is mandatory. Duties and Responsibilities is fully remote in that you must be able to travel 100% of the time to the job site. Must be fully qualified and capable of working directly with project management to understand and evaluate scheduled electrical work needed to complete projects in a timely manner. Must be capable of performing all duties associated with the crew lead position and in addition. Must be able to self-prepare for all scopes of electrical work needed by evaluating pictures from site assessment and communicating directly with the project management and design team about any necessary changes or improvements to the electrical plan set. These changes must be documented and sent to the project management team. Must maintain tools and materials needed to “adapt and overcome” any challenges in the field including utility shutdowns. Must be capable of communicating at a high level with city inspectors. Must maintain a 90% or higher pass rate on all electrical equipment wall installations and maintain less than 10% of service calls generated by installation-related quality issues. Must be capable of cross-training and crew development when assigned to supervise and support solar installation crews, allowing roof crew leads to self-perform installations while maintaining consistent quality by performing and documenting (pictures) quality control checks at specific points during the installation process. Must be capable of supervising the crew while the electrical apprentice ( roof lead or other designated person by management) gets to experience electrical wall installation and service upgrades. Must have required personal tools of the trade, see “minimum required personal tools of the trade”. During the first 90 days you will be required to learn how to install Tesla Powerwall coupled with Enphase solar systems. We will be looking to you to run your own crew with a helper installing power walls and solar systems. By the end of the 90 days, you will be required to take a proficiency test. This test will include you installing a complete battery and solar system without the help of the lead electrician at Good Faith Energy. You must pass this test to be a lead electrician for Good Faith Energy. We will provide you with all the on-the-job training as well as classroom materials to advance your knowledge of the systems you will be installing. Attends all meetings and conference calls. Duties and responsibilities • Maintain welding machines, forklifts, crawler & overhead cranes, vehicles and hand tools. • Follow Lock Out / Tag Out procedures. • Disconnect and connect high voltage equipment such as welding machines and shore power for vessels under construction. • Enter and work in confined spaces. • Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting. • Repair and overhaul of large and small machinery. • Building maintenance. • Maintain and repair painting/blasting equipment. • Maintain and repair company trailers. • Connect shore power to vessels. • Maintain reports for all the above. • Ascend and work at heights of up to 40 feet. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Demonstrate mastery and continue duties of Apprentice 1, 2, 3, and 4. Safely construct, replace, repair, and perform maintenance of electric distribution lines, structures, and equipment. Investigate trouble on lines and locate cause of power outages. Install, repair, and perform maintenance of underground cables. Install meter and transformer pads. Install and disconnect meters. Install and maintain security lighting. Assist in digging and tamping pole holes; load, unload, set and remove poles. Conduct line patrol activities and report maintenance needs, as necessary. Must be able to operate vehicles and heavy equipment including line trucks, boom trucks, underground trenchers, and digger trucks, and other associated equipment in a safe and proficient manner.
